Country cottage near Boscastle with Parking free Wifi and 6ft Bed

Situated in the unspoilt Parish of Treneglos is Higher Scarsick a working Sheep farm which has been farmed by the French Family since the early 1920's. Treneglos is mid way between the towns of Launceston, Bude and Camelford and approx 8.5 miles to Boscastle and Crackington Haven is a delightful place to spend your holiday surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside yet only a short drive to the wonderful sandy beaches on the North Cornwall Coast and very convenient for the variety of tourist attractions and leisure pursuits Cornwall has to offer. The cottage has been renovated over recent years and has retained many original features, including oak beams, stone inglenooks and a bread oven. Each year we take steps to inprove the cottage so that it is cosy and inviting for all seasons. We have refurbished the bathroom and one of the double bedrooms now en suite. The cottage now has 2 showers and 2 toilets as well as a bath. The other double bedroom has a super king size bed (6Ft) Photos will follow when I finish redecorating the bedroom. . Step outside to a large garden where you can hear the birds singing and enjoy the stunning views and if you care to take a short walk down the lane there is a small stream which is particularly beautiful in the spring and autumn.
Please ask for your holiday requirements I do try to accommodate where possible
The cottage is located avoiding the continuing road works on the A30 between Launceston and Bodmin, we are constantly hearing of horrendous traffic delays which is not a good start or end to any holiday.

Lovely cottage
We had a lovely stay at this cottage being 5 adults and plenty of room but may of been a bit pushed if 6 for sitting room but perfect for us. It's a bit way out on single track road and at first was a bit worried about but found perfectly ok by end of holiday. Kitchen was lovely only downside but it didn't affect us a very small ice compartment but luckily we didn't get much frozen food . There are some steep stairs but a great hand rail so not a problem but worth mentioning if you have mobility issues. We all enjoyed our stay and Heather was very friendly showing us the baby lambs.

While the house was nicely appointed and clean inside, we feel it should be noted how far into the country it is. A several miles long one-lane path to the house was not mentioned. Live farm animals on the property were not mentioned. We were not expecting to be this far away from a town. The owner was very nice and attentive. We appreciate their hospitality.

Nice and cosy feeling cottage, off of the beaten track. Tranquil and peaceful, if a bit in the middle of nowhere. Very welcoming hosts and popular with repeat customers if you read the visitor book.

Wonderful retreat
We all enjoyed every minute, and didn’t want to leave. The property itself is a home from home. Heather and Les are the perfect hosts. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the cottage, views and setting very much. We had lovely days out at Hidden Valley, body boarding at Trebarwith Bay and evenings at The Port William inn, where we enjoyed the most incredible sunsets (and shanty music). We hope to return and would highly recommend this wonderful retreat.

Hidden away but not far away
Idyllic location on a working farm with easy access to so many amazing places. Yes, you’ll have to navigate a mile or two of Cornish lanes to get there, but that’s half the fun of staying somewhere like this! Our second stay here and couldn’t be happier. Cozy and comfortable with everything you’d need.

Lovely location
Property was clean and comfortable and Heather was a lovely host, friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive. The whole vibe was relaxed and easy. We were able to enjoy beautiful walks directly from the door, meaning the car could stay put. The hedgerows are a picture at this time of year. The beds were very comfortable and we were woken to the sounds of the birds singing and the cows mooing. Our 4 dogs enjoyed being able to walk largely off lead and were able to mooch about in the garden taking in the many sniffs that the countryside offers them. We left our accommodation relaxed and happy, we hope to return again perhaps in the Autumn.

Peace Haven!
A spacious, comfortable and warm property, matched by our wonderful host, Heather. It truly felt like home from home but in a beautiful, picturesque environment. The perfect location for exploring the beautiful and sometimes hidden gems of Devon and Cornwall. Our visit, during the Lambing season, meant that we were able to see the little white bundles of joy. Heavenly!

Wonderful place to stay!
We so enjoyed our 11 days here. There were four of us and the house is spacious and well-equipped, the location is absolutely beautiful, and Heather could not have been nicer or more helpful. It was an added bonus that lambs were born every day we were there! We highly recommend this property, if we ever make it back to beautiful Cornwall we would definitely stay here again.

A very cozy cottage surrounded by the idyllic countryside of North Cornwall.
A very pleasant cottage adjacent to working farmland. Clean and well equipped with a modern kitchen and comfy lounge for relaxing after days out exploring. Heather and Les were most welcoming and made us feel very much at home. A very peaceful location accessed via some wonderful Cornish country lanes. A nearby woodland is great for walking or running with views from the north coast to Dartmoor. Only a short distance from the highest cliff along the Cornish coast and the beautiful beaches of The Strangles and Crackington Haven. Bude and Launceston are only about 20 minutes away. We had a very enjoyable stay! Highly recommended.

Lovely Break Away - Home From Home!
Well not quite home from home because this is a working farm! The cottage was scrupulously clean and well provisioned in every respect. It has every kitchen utensil possible and great cooking facilities and a decent sized fridge. The WiFi was great and really stable. Heather and Les are amazing hosts and really welcoming but not intrusive. The walking in the area is magical and we hardly saw a soul (but plenty of cows, sheep and wildlife). If you like bright lights and the big city this place is not for you. If you prefer peace and tranquility you'll love the cottage, farm and local area. Although we were just a couple, there's plenty of space to spread out - inside and out so good for a family too. Thank you Heather & Les - we left refreshed and very envious of where you live!

May Holiday in Beautiful Cornwall
We had one of our best holidays ever thus week. The location is beautiful and Heather and Les were both so welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is cosy and comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need. We got to help with feeding some lambs and also met the young calves. There is a lovely 3 mile circular walk that you can do from the cottage which was great. During our stay we visited Boscastle (personal favourite), Port Isaac, Padstow, Bodmin Jail (worth a look at the gorgeous hotel too), Falmouth (University visit) and Adrenaline Quarry (zip wires and aqua park). Thank you to Heather and Les xx

This is a lovely cottage and well recommended. Be aware it is literally in the middle of nowhere and shops are at keast 30 mins away. Its lovely and quiet and having Heather next door helped. The TV buzzes but you get used to that, we do spend evenings in so its important to us, but not others. There is everything you need there, wifi can be hit and miss and buffering but thats only important if your streaming a film or anything. Recommended for those who wish to relax

A cosy property set in a beautiful location on a working farm with great access to north coast.
The property was lovely, warm and cosy - perfect to return to after a day in the surf. The beds are really comfortable, lots of pillows and 2 showers - always useful for a family of 5. Access to a washing machine was handy, but no tumble dryer. The property is attached to the owners property with a shared garden but at no point did we feel overlooked or that we couldn’t go out and have fun in the garden. It was great staying on a working farm and being surrounded by countryside. The children enjoyed looking at the cows being milked and the new calves. The property is in a fantastic location, within easy reach of the A30 and the north Cornwall beaches - bude is only 30 mins away. We would definitely return.

A lovely holiday
We spent two great weeks at this cottage in June. We were three generations, reunited for the first time in a very long while. Our little granddaughter loved all the animals and the nearby beaches. The cottage was very comfortable, with surprisingly spacious rooms. Well equipped. Nice decor. Lovely, helpful owners. Beautiful area. Thoroughly recommend it!

Fabulous farmhouse stay
This accommodation was exactly what we were wanting, set on a working farm in the heart of the Devon countryside and near woods, which were great to go walking in, but still within a short drive to the coast and all that offers, was the best of both worlds for us. The hosts were incredibly lovely and friendly. Despite this being a working farm, we were not disturbed by any noise and loved the tranquility of being in the countryside.
