Pfrundmatte apartment is situated in the middle of the village,near the Staubbach waterfall , along the street going to the Jungfrau camping. It is only a 8 minute walk to the railway station, a two minute walk to the pub and near several restaurants in the neighbourhood. The ski bus stops just opposite to the building. The Winter Jungfrau pass allows free bus and trains rides in the area. The proprietor is at your disposition to give details of the area, or other tips or ideas about all the things to do during your vacation. sticks are also available. 3D HD TV and Blue Ray 3D Home Cinema I Pod docking are available. Lauterbrunnen in Winter:: Lauterbrunnen is a perfect base for a winter holiday. For the active holidaymaker you can enjoy activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoe trekking, sledging, para gliding, curling and skiing. However for the more sedate there are reduced price passes for non skiers so that you can enjoy the fabulous scenery or meet up for lunch. The revolving restaurant at the top of the Schiltorn should not be missed and further afield there are lovely shops and cafes in Grindelwald. It is also possible to take a boat ride on the two lakes. for skiers we an get 10 per cent discount ski rent charges .

Lauterbrunnen in Spring / Summer:: In Spring / Summer Lauterbrunnen is an excellent base for exploring the Jungfrau region. You can take the train up to Jungfraujoch (the highest railway and restaurant in Europe) or the cable car to Schiltorn/Piz Gloria, film location of James Bond. There are hiking and cycle paths for all abilities, the Eiger trail or a gentle stroll along the Lauterbrunnen valley, via Gimmelwald and Stechelberg. Or take bikes up to Murren and cycle back down to Lauterbrunnen. Local folklore festivals, flag throwing and dancing displays take place in the summer months. Food is an important part of staying in the mountains. Excellent local produce such as cheese, hams and bread are all available locally. The lakes and Interlaken are only 8 miles away, with several beaches around the lake, as well as the swimming pool in the village there are plenty of opportunities for swimming, water sports and boat rides in the two lakes of Thun and Brienz.

Highlights: •Trümmelbach Falls near Lauterbrunnen: one of the wildest glacier ravines in Europe with the ten waterfalls of the Trümmelbach hidden amongst the rocks.
•Staubbach Falls: on the edge of the village of Lauterbrunnen. The water plunges almost 300 meters from an overhanging cliff face. It was the inspiration for one of Goethe’s famous poems. You can see this very close one balcony of the apartment and at night it is illuminated . You can also walk up the Staubbach Gallery till 20.00 in summer .
•Schilthorn: on the trail of James Bond. Visitors to the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant at 2970 m can enjoy the view of 400 mountain peaks and 20 glaciers.
•UNESCO world heritage themed trail in the depths of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the first themed trail in the Junggfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn world natural heritage site and devoted to waterfalls, alpine farming, power stations and mountain hotels.

Beautiful location

Location is perfect with beautiful views of the Alps. Easy access to trains and bus and property is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Owners were easy to work with and property was very clean. We would stay there again.

Great location!

Although we spent most of our days traveling throughout Switzerland, the location of this property is amazing! The view from the balcony is amazingly beautiful!! There was 6 of us and we had plenty of space. Communication was good and we found the space very clean when we got there. It was also located right next to the pub...which was a plus! I would certainly stay there again!!

Great Place and Views

The property is about a 10 minute walk from the Lauterbrunnen station. It's a good size with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked with a great breakfast nook and living room. The highlight though are the balconies, one having a view of Staubachfalls. The owner, Augustine, is communicative and helpful. People will often say, I'd come back and it feels cliche. My family and I loved this property and would 100% come back. Easily the best rental property I've ever stayed at.

We have enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious, nicely decorated with beautiful views from all the rooms. Augustine was helpful with tips and hints of how we can best explore the surrounding area. All the amenities are in good condition. We enjoyed the view of the waterfall from the balcony.

Great Location and View

We definitely enjoyed the stay and the view from the property. It was a last minuted change of plan in our trip, we were originally booked to stay in Zurich but it was good we made the switch. The Host had everything in the apartment that you need for the stay.

Magical village

We loved every idyllic moment in Lauterbrunnen. It's such a beautiful little village, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. Our host was so very helpful with every question. We were central to all the places we hoped to visit, such as Trummlebach Falls and Shilthorn, or train rides to other towns. It was perfect for us.

Lovely space with a stunning view

A great place to base yourself when exploring the Jungfrau region. Comfortable and well-supplied with all equipment required, it is only a matter of minutes from Lauterbrunnen train station - from where you can access trains, cable cars and hiking trails galore. We've only been gone a day or so, and we're all missing our end-of-day cold beers on the balcony staring at the Staubbach Fall.

Beautiful and huge Appartement in wonderful surrounding

We stayed for one Week with 6 adults for Wintersport in the Ski Area nearby. The Appartement was much bigger than expected from the Photos. Also the Appartement is very Well equipped with kitchen Tools and Entertainment. The best Thing about our stay was the Location. The View from the balcony in the Walterfall is really amazing. Short distances to Public Transport. Communication with the Host was good!

Amazing location

What can we say, it is just a beautiful place with incredible scenery wherever we looked from the apartment, which was so comfortable clean and spacious, with everything that you need.The apartment is only 400 metres from the majestic Staubbach Waterfall with uninterrupted views, and it’s lit up in the evening. Thanks to our host Augustine who was very helpful and always available to answer any enquiries and made it such a great stay. Thoroughly recommend this property and host. We would love to come back if our circumstances allowed.

Best location - gorgeous views

This was our second time to visit Lauterbrunnen, and we could not have been more happy with this property. Pictures accurately portray the apartment. The views out every window are amazing! We ate several dinners on the balcony facing the waterfall, and really enjoyed watching people hike up and down the trail to the falls. The bathrooms were very clean and had good water pressure. When you stay in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, you’re there for the views, and the living room of this apartment has THE view! The kitchen was well supplied and allowed us to cook in for several meals. We would absolutely stay here again!

Home away from home

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location couldn't have been better, with a fantastic view of the waterfall from the living room balcony and from a bedroom window. It was a short walk to the train station and to the downtown area with stores and restaurants. The apartment is quite large and really well furnished, with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and there are lots of books and videos available. It really felt like a home away from home rather than a vacation rental. Finally, the owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! They explained how everything worked in the apartment and gave us lots of information about what to do in the area. I would definitely want to stay here again next time I come to this area.

Excellent apartment in great location

The Parani's apartment was extremely clean, in a great location with beautiful views and is well-furnished. Although we didn't have too much time to read, there was a wealth of books on travel plus many other topics. There were also a number of interesting CD's to watch. A short walk takes you to the center of town for restaurants, shops, and Tourist Info center. A very short walk from there takes you to the train station, from which you can go anywhere in Switzerland as well as all of Europe. One minor complaint - The Parani's could offer a little more help with the complicated recycling process in Lauterbrunnen. All things considered, a wonderful place to stay. We would return in a minute!

Loving the Lauterbrunnen

Our three generations totaling six people were very comfortable in this great condo. It is on the first floor by European standards - about 20 steps up from ground level - and then everything is on the same level. This is wonderful since so many accommodations in Switzerland are multistorey within the house or apartment and we had the two granddaughters. The condo is well stocked with books - some in English - and DVD'S and CD'S, umbrellas and even a grocy carrier for going to the store. . Location could not be more convenient and view is magnificent with comfortable balconies for morning coffee and viewing. Augustine was very helpful and made sure that we knew about all the special events that were happening in the area and that we had very thing we needed. We had a wonderful stay!! Thank you Augustine!!

Great stay

We were with 4 persons 70+ and had a wonderful time in Augustin & Celine’s apartment. Everything needed was available, we did not miss anything. It was also great that 2 balcony’s were available. On forehand we agreed upon 2 double bedrooms that were prepared. It turns out that bedroom nr 3 is an ensuite-bedroom but the room is relatively small for elderly people. We discussed that with the owner and he fully understands our needs and arrived the same day to provide bedlinen for a single bed in room nr 2 (although he does not live in the area). In addition to this he provided us with a lot of touristic information. Excellent ! Finally it was not quite clear to us was the definition is for “kitchen waste”. It turns out that is is all waste plastic, glas and beer cans excluded

Perfect Place to Stay in Lauterbrunnen

My family and I just got back from spending 7 nights in Lauterbrunnen. This apartment was perfect for the 7 of us. There were beds for 6 of us and the 7th person slept on the pull-out sofa. The place was very well appointed and clean. The owner provided us with advice on local events and couldn't have been nicer and more accomodating. The apartment rental included linens, towels, shampoo, soap, etc. Additionally, the kitchen was fully equipped with cooking utensils and equipment, including pots, pans, oven, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, and refrigerator. We were able to cook in several nights and it was so fun and easy. There are also several good restaurants nearby as well. The Hotel Oberland was delicious! The apartment has a stunning view of the nearby waterfall, as well as the breathtaking valley of the town. The town pub is about a 1 minute walk away! The grocery store and train station take about 5-10 mintues to walk to. We took very quick train rides to Interlaken several times and went up to Grimmelwald and other mountains simply by parking by the nearby gondola. There were parking spaces for the two cars we had as well. The whole place could not have been more convenient and accomodating. Highly recommended!

A little piece of heaven!

Augustine & Celine's apartment was absolutely wonderful for our family of 5 - well-situated, comfortable, clean, quiet, with great amenities! It's about a 10 minute walk to train station & gondola, Coop grocery store and bakery; also walking distance to restaurants and stores. The apartment even has a shopping cart to haul your groceries home! Really appreciated having laundry facilities to use too! Beds were very comfortable. Wifi was great. The kitchen was well-equipped for preparing our meals! The apartment was spacious with plenty of room to relax. Lauterbrunnen was the perfect "home base" from which to tour the Bernese Oberland: from the train station, we easily accessed the Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, First, Schynige Platte, Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg, Interlaken, Bern and Zurich. Augustine & Celine were most helpful, suggesting sights and hikes, and explaining how everything worked in the apartment. After our delayed flight and hence later-than-expected arrival in Lauterbrunnen, we really appreciated Augustine's offer to drive us from the train station to the apartment! We miss eating dinner on the balcony, gazing upon Staubbach Falls and the mountains, listening to the rush of water! We miss hearing the sheep's bells ringing musically as they grazed outside the kitchen window! Our stay here in Lauterbrunnen was truly in a little piece of heaven! Highly recommend this apartment!
