Wasn't expecting much so wasn't overly disappointed. First up they told us we weren't booked in. Showed them the booking confirmation, so they put us up, but I had to get confirmation of the payment receipt from lastminute.com.au. This wasn't easy as it was Christmas and they were closed. Spent several days trying & finally got hold of them. It turned out they hadn't sent the booking or payment, so not the hotels fault.
The good: it was a decent size room, had a good air conditioner and bar fridge.
The bad: only sheets on the bed, no blanket, so would wake up during the night freezing. Couldn't turn the aircon off otherwise 10 minutes later you were hot again. Bathroom: shower had either burning hot water or freezing cold, no way of regulating it. Also pot luck on which day you would have hot or cold. Shower head had 3 tiny jets in it, which hardly wet you. On the 2nd day I gave it a scrub, an found it was a calcium build up, so at least we could not get wet. The toilet cistern leaked all over the floor everytime you flushed. All the fittings were old & rusted. Also a lot of mould on the tiles & walls.
The external doors are an old fashioned type, so only have a padlock to put through 2 rings to lock it. We also took a combination retractable cable lock to ensure a bit of security while we were out. The inside was a timber frame with a timber bolt, so no way of securing a lock etc. Pretty flimsy.
