Internet: YES! High speed internet. Up to 300 MPS

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you before arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let us know, and we'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases, blankets and bath towels.

Parking: Maximum 3 cars on property.

Pets: 1 dog is allowed here! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. There are 1 dog crate (for small dogs—under 40lbs.) for guests to use while on-site. Also, we have dog dishes for you as well. Yes, we do accept 1 dog, yet we do ask that you please clean up after it inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow it on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with it, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). Please plan for 4-5 hours to get out of your vehicle to explore and get the full experience of Michigan's beautiful fall colors!

This house sits right on a large lake. We were able to watch the sun rise each morning over the lake. I have never stayed in a rental that has been better stocked for a family's nee.

Douglas Lake Wonderful Cottage
This is a fabulous 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage that is lakeside. We stayed for a full week and loved every minute of our stay. Kayaks are available and the home is furnished with many extras including laundry room, binoculars, and sleeps 8. We loved sitting on the large deck watching the moon rising and seeing the ducks and many birds during the daytime.

This is our second time staying at this home. It is clean and spacious and a beautiful lake setting. We especially loved that we could bring our family dog and include her in our vacation. The view is breathtaking and the lake frontage is clean and perfect for swimming. We love coming here and hope to visit again!

The cottage is very nice, very clean, great amenities, and generally in excellent condition. Some of exterior features were not yet in place (dock not in water, lightning on back deck not connected). But we were a little early in the season. Would definitely go back.

A relaxing week on the lake.
Our family had a great time at the house. We had plenty of space to spread out, and the home was warm and inviting with fabulous views of Lake Douglas. Of course we spent most of our time outside enjoying the kayaks, swimming, and watching the woodpeckers from the comfy deck chairs.

The only complaint I have about this stay is that it didn’t last long enough! The property had everything we needed and more!! The location was perfect for our needs. It was quiet and peaceful. The lake was beautiful! It was even better that we could bring our pup along to enjoy this great spot! If we’re ever in the area again we’ll certainly rent this property again!

This property is well kept with great views. Spacious enough for our family and our two dogs. They provided lots of towels, paper products, kitchen supplies and the blankets that were needed on the chilly nights. The kayaks provided for use are great. Great time with family
We had a pleasant time with our family. The home was super cute and cozy. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the exterior. The table and chairs were covered in bird poop and spider webs. We understand that bugs can be unavoidable, but it was obvious that the exterior hasn't been cleaned in awhile. Otherwise, everything was really nice, clean, and orderly!
