We were at out son's wedding in the mountains and had a great time at the cabin. It was relaxing.
When google map says you are here, keep driving. The cabin is at the end of a private drive which is better traveled for the first time during the day! When you arrive, it looks like a small 2-story cabin. But, upon further investigation the left side of the house has a living room with fireplace, an attached screened porch overlooking the creek, and twin bedroom on the main floor with 2 bedrooms (queen & king) and a bathroom upstairs. Staircases to upper floor are steep, but worth the climb. Next is the kitchen with a double jacuzzi bath attached. Further down the hallway is a 3rd bathroom with double shower heads, washer and dryer and a sitting area. Above the sitting area is the loft with 2 full size beds. Watch your head when you go up the stairs to the loft. A little further on the main floor is another king bedroom. The kitchen has all the amenities you will need. You just have to look through all the cupboards to find them. Two recommendations for the kitchen are a rack or shelves for groceries and new dishwasher. The top drawer to the dishwasher kept falling off its rails. We used all 4 bedrooms and the loft. Beds were comfortable. The loft had a window air conditioner which worked great! We had to shut some vents on the main floor to get more air upstairs. Bathroom had great towels and shower soap. The house had plenty of tissues and toilet paper. We were at our son's wedding in the mountains and had a great time at the cabin. It was very relaxing.

Great Family place
We were there for a wedding in Lexington. My extended family stayed here and we had a great time. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the land and river. The older cousins enjoyed the firepit at night making smores. The bathrooms were are great surprise in that the shower head were nice and high. We are a family of giants most everyone was 6ft to 6ft &inch tall. So a tall shower is greatly appreciated. The house had everything we needed including kitchen essentials and a iron/iron board. It is a great place.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Willow Haven Cabin is a perfect place to get away for the weekend while remaining close to Lexington Va and all of its amenities. The cabin feels incredibly secluded with an endless supply of great views and moments with the family. The inside of the cabin is extremely comfortable and cozy and offers everything you need for an easy and relaxing stay. The grounds are amazing with a fun barn that has darts, ping pong table, horseshoes, and cornhole game. The kids loved playing in the creek and walking around the property. The gas fireplace in the house was great in the evenings when it got too cold by the fire pit outside of the house. Cannot recommend the house enough.

Great location for Thanksgiving Getaway
We had two families staying here for Thanksgiving weekend. Loved the view, nature, listening to the creek, the fire pit. Parts of it are an old cabin so there are some quirks (uneven floors, drafts, etc) but that is part of the charm.

Absolute Perfection!
There are simply not enough superlatives to describe this property, the amenities, the communication…excellent on all fronts. We had family staying for my son’s graduation then hosted his buddies and their families for a post grad BBQ. Everyone who came remarked on the incredible beauty of the location and the rustic quaintness of the house. Beautifully appointed, comfortable beds (even the pull out sofas!), and the screened porch - perhaps the best thing about the place. We enjoyed long mornings with coffee and evenings with wine and conversation while gliding on the porch swing and listening to the rippling water. If you want a stunning location and a house that meets every need (and then some), this is the place for you.

Geoffrey the goose
My daughters named the goose Geoffrey who swims in the river with the ducks behind the house. Loved being back in Virginia where we lived for so many years and this historical house made our trip perfect. We were there in late April for a wedding so the weather got a bit chilly for a couple of days. The fireplace in the living room made everything cozy where we would drink coffee in the morning and sip wine in the evening. When the sun came out we sat by the river and sometimes Geoffrey the goose would honk at us. The house had everything we needed for our stay and for cooking meals. It is in a quiet rural area but a short drive into Lexington. Wish we had stayed a few more days to have time to really enjoy this beautiful property.

Wonderful Retreat!
We had the absolute best time at Willow Haven Cabin! We all loved it and were sad when our trip had to end. Our boys, ages 2.5, 5 & 7 had so much fun fishing and playing in the creek, playing cornhole, ping pong and darts. Grandparents enjoyed relaxing in the Adirondack chairs watching their grandchildren in the creek. Plenty of space in the house for all of 7 of us and could have easily fit more. Very convenient to VMI and town. We all absolutely loved our long weekend and will be returning ASAP!

Lovely Fall Family Trip
The cabin and property were just what we were looking for - an opportunity for family to be together and enjoy nature, with various levels of activities for everyone. Some fished, some hiked, some enjoyed the firepit, the deck overlooking the creek, the front porch rocking chairs, etc., and the cabin had all the modern conveniences needed (i.e., ground level bedrooms, internet, TV) for our various family members (covering 4 generations from ages 1 through 89)! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We enjoyed it immensely.

Great week in Lexington
The house was a little rough around the edges but it quickly grew on me and we had a great week. The location appeared isolated with no neighbors (a good thing) but it was a short 10 minute drive to the city. We would definitely stay there again next year.

Beautiful and unique, but dated
This property was so unique and really quite charming in many ways. I love the somewhat bizarre layout and the rooms were of decent size. However, for the amount of money we spent, I found some things unacceptable. For example, the appliance in the kitchen were so outdated and just in really bad shape. The oven door wouldn't even open all the way. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes well. Beyond the kitchen, I was disappointed with the quality of the king sized bad, and also told there were two rooms with king beds when it was really just one. If you stay in any of the 3 bedrooms in the main original cabin, don't expect privacy as sound travels everywhere! Lexington is a really charming city. I can see this cabin being a wonderful retreat in the warmer months and when more things are open (post-COVID pandemic world). Thanks for a lovely stay.
