"Nothing like the pictures when we booked. Very shabby accommodation. One indoor very crowded pool and No facilities on site, you have to go int Saumur which is a lovely city. You have to pay extra for bedding . Beds uncomfortable and furniture all very old. Definitely not worth the money. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The photos do not do it justice, it is a lot more spacious than it appears online. It’s the ideal location to visit nearby chateaux and places of interest. It was lovely waking up and looking out onto the vineyard. The apartment is beautiful and the views are fantastic. We loved Saumur and also took day trips to area castles and other sites. "A superb property in excellent condition with a fantastic large garden. This was a stopover break during our travel from the south of France back to the UK and we ended up thinking we would really have like to stay longer. The host was very cooperative and accommodating. Great place to stay."

Fantastic property in amazing location

"The house was a really special place to stay with beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities. Despite the cool, damp weather outside, the house was lovely and warm with easily controllable radiators - a really pleasant surprise in such an old building. The pool was great and the games room was a real treat - especially for my teenage son and husband! The location is great - just round the corner from the centre of Saumur and all it has to offer. We were able to be at the table of one of the excellent local restaurants in minutes by foot. Gilles was an attentive host and made sure we were enjoying our stay. I would highly recommend!"

Convenient and welcoming

"Hotel Ibis is convenient for those travelling to Saumur by train-- property is literally right across street from station. Friendly service ( I can speak a bit of French; they could speak some English so all good for check-in, etc! Also.one staffer who was fully bilingual.). Good breakfast in pleasant dining area. Also a cozy bar and in nice weather a courtyard. There is a v.good Italian restaurant next door, and cafe 2 blocks away. You will want to go into Saumur Centre-- a 15 minute walk over 2 bridges. Lots to explore and many eating choices there. "
