"We have had a disappointing experience with this vacation rental. All four of us have suffered from bed bugs. We initially thought we were dealing with mosquitoes. But the bites got so big and painful that it wasn't until later that we realized we were dealing with bed bugs. We complained about this to the landlord afterwards and it seemed only reasonable to us that they would refund half as our holiday enjoyment was seriously ruined. We have not received any response from the landlords."

"This is a lovely house in a beautiful rural setting. Our only recommendation to the property owners would be to update the bedding, specifically in the primary bedroom upstairs. The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable. Also, the description suggests it is a 4 minute walk to the National History Museum and 13 minute walk to the Les Eyzies train station. Unless there is a path through the woods that we did not find, the road to town is unwalkable and dangerous."

"Fabulous week in the Dordogne based at this property - very rural and quiet but lots of lovely towns and Chateau’s and other things to see and do in the region so you will need a hire car to get around. The Gîte is superbly welcoming and comfortable - has everything you need for your stay. Craig and Caroline are fantastic hosts too, full of great advice beforehand when planning your stay and also on hand if needed while there. If I could 6 stars here I would! "

"This house is in the perfect location with most villages to visit no more than a 20 minute drive away. The house was spacious, clean with the most wonderful outside area with pool. Joëlle and Dominique were there to greet us and were pleasant people to deal with. Would definitely book again. We all felt relaxed after staying here. "

"We went on holiday with 4 adults and 3 children ( 12 to 14). The House is situated in the very well kept village of Capdrot and only a 5 minute drive to the lovely old town of Monpezzier ( which is deffinatly worth a visit on thursdays which is Market day). The house is equiped with everything you need including a washing machine which is a must for us ( allows us to travel with slightly less items). The internet was more than adequate for us to all be online at once. The Pool isnt covered but...

"After reading the reviews we decided to take a punt and book the holiday. I’m so glad we did! All the reviews (good and bad) are spot on. The property is ‘rustic’. There are no frills but the layout of the house was perfect for 2 families and it is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. "I’ve stayed here twice, my only issue with this properly is the code/pin entry to the building & rooms, as sometimes they fail you can’t get in. I arrived at 2pm, but the desk is technically open at 4pm. There is a machine outside to check you in if the desk is closed. 1st booking was direct & received the codes. 2nd time via Expedia my booking ref number didn’t work & we nearly had to wait, was almost stuck. Luckily a guy from outside let us in with his code & called Sabrina. Whom opened the desk, we paid our taxes and she gave us our codes. The reception isn’t open 24/7. Sabrina & her team were very friendly, warm & made a huge difference as the first time there was a lady (April 2024) who was unfriendly and unhelpful… I paid for a late check out but was told on my last day, you can’t have it as the hotel is full. No refund of the extra fee. Her favourite word was NO! I’m not a fan of the code/pin entry system because, the first time the codes failed (I booked 3 rooms) I couldn’t even get back into the hotel. Luckily a guest came back and held the door open. I would have been stuck outside it was around 9pm. The codes can also fail on the bedrooms, if you enter quickly after a short period of time, you just have to wait for a bit and re-enter and it should work. Location is great for me, rooms are basic, pillows are average, bed is comfortable. Shower pressure is very good. Parking is free which is amazing. All of this is reflected in the price."
