A bit run down but clean and great location
Property is advertised as "environmentally friendly" and featuring "Chic Hamptons style decor", neither of these descriptions is accurate. While very clean and in a very convenient location, the house is very dated. The upstairs bathroom features a whirlpool tub (the only tub in the house) that has been painted and has a faucet that was repaired with duct tape. When I tried to use the tub to bathe my children, the paint started to peel off into the water. The house is modestly decorated and furnished with a mix of IKEA furniture and garage sale finds that have been "creatively" repurposed. For example, the house does not have a dining table, instead a small, round glass coffee table has been placed in the kitchen with two dining chairs. It does have a small counter with three stools.
The owner was very responsive, but oddly refused to provide the address of the house until one week before arrival. I found it a little disconcerting that they would not let us know the exact address for a house that I planned to stay in with my small children. I ended up having to call VRBO customer service to get the address in advance.
We rented in the winter, so I am sure some of this would be overlooked if you were spending most of your time out of the house or in the backyard that features a large swimming pool.
