Covent Garden/Bloomsbury,British Museum Beautiful 1 bed apt near museum theatres

A lovely flat located in the Heart Of Central London. The flat is on a very quiet and charming street(no traffic at all)within a two minute walk from the British Museum. Its location is fantastic! The flat will sleep 4 in comfort. There are excellent transport links nearby ,but as one is so close to the major sightseeing attractions, public transport shouldn't be necessary. There's wide choice of coffee shops, tea rooms, restaurants all within minutes of the flat. The flat is well looked after and our guests should love their stay in Bloomsbury. For those wishing to see theatre productions ,Covent Garden is a 7 minute walk away. There's plenty of shopping on nearby Oxford St.The flat should suit those coming to London to see the sights or for those needing a relaxing break. The flat is in a beautiful period Victorian building. It's situated on a stunning street, that has a wonderful historic feel to it all year round.

Our charming flat will be the perfect home from home in Central London. The area of Bloomsbury is stunning. Our guests will be able to wander the historic nearby Garden Sqaures and even bring a picnic for those long summer nights. The kitchen is fully equipped to allow dining in a pleasure not a chore. There's plenty of dishes, serving plates, pot and pans etc. There's a dining table that will sit up to four guests. We have plenty of wine glasses and that ever necessary corkscrew. There's a toaster, coffee, microwave, oven and hob. There's a fridge and freezer. The flat has gas central heating and one will be able to adjust the amount of heat required in each room. The flat is warm and the winter and cool and breezy during the summer. There's a fanatstic feeling of space in the flat with 12 foot high ceilings throughout ,our guests won't feel cramped at all.

There's a washer/dryer which will come in handy for those travelling with children, or those wanting to take a suitcase full of clean clothes back with them.We also provide a iron and ironing board. There's no need for our guests to clean the flat before departing as the cleaning fee is included in the price. This will allow you that bit of extra time to get some last minute things done.

There's a colour TV with satelite/cable channels./DVD palyer. We also has a very fast internet connection/WI FI throughout the flat.

Nearby you'll find the marvellous Bury Place and is unique range of independent shops. The London Review of Books is on this street and their selection of books is divine. They also have an excellent cafe serving a great selection of teas, coffee, cakes ,salads and sandwiches. The shop often has author nights,so you be in for a treat if one of their events is happening during your stay.

Situated just behind Bury Place is a splendid courtyard called Pied Bull Yard There's a lovely wine bar called Truckies which has a very good selection of wines by the glass. If the sun is shining then one can sit outside and really enjoy the weather and a decent glass of wine in beautiful quiet surroundings. I was over the moon to learn that Le Cordon Bleu has just relocated to Pied Bull Yard. This international top notch cookery school also has a huge cafe serving all sorts of delightful treats!

Our guests will find an huge array of traditional English Pubs nearby. I always suggest having at least one Sunday Roast during a visit to London. The Museum Tavern opposite the British Museum serves a really good roast!

Opposite the flat is the historic Bloomsbury Church. This is a Hawksmoor designed church. It has wonderful concerts (mainly jazz or classical) throughout the month. For a very small entrance charge one can really enjoy the beauty of this place(and hear some relaxing music at the same time)

The British Museum is two minutes from the flat. It can be quite busy ,so an early start is a top tip if you wish to avoid the afternoon crowds.

The National Gallery,National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Academy are all within walking distance to the flat. For those with a talent for the painting, a quick visit to nearby L. Cornelissen on nearby Great Russell Street is a must visit. The shop has been there since 1855 and to this day still sells quality art materials.

Our guests will be able to walk with ease to other parts of Central London such as Holborn, Covent Garden and Fitzrovia. I would even suggest taking a Sunday walk into the City of London via Fleet Street, as at the weekend it's very quiet.

We found the lack of windows on the ground floor a bit confronting. Only being able to see the sky (through skylight) or the building "well" which was unattractive to say the least, was disappointing. Everything else was great

Great Flat in the Heart of London
This flat provided everything my travel companion and I needed for a 10-day stay in London. The bed was comfortable, the wifi and TV were reliable, and the kitchen appliances worked well. The flat is centrally located with quick access to the Holborn Tube Station, bus stations, and easy access for Uber drivers. The flat was surrounded by restaurants, grocery stores, pubs, and it is around the corner from the British museum. It was a quick walk to Soho. I felt like a true local while staying in this rental. We felt safe in the neighborhood and in the flat itself. The flat is on the third floor, so ensure you are comfortable walking a few flights of stairs before booking. The owner was prompt to respond to all my messages, he was polite and professional, and he provided great directions to the flat from the airport. I would absolutely recommend this flat for 1-3 travelers vacationing in London.

Great location and nice flat!!
We loved our stay at this sweet flat. The location was central and walking distance to many things we wanted to see. The British Museum is a block away while the National Gallery, Westminster Abbey, the West End Theater district are all walkable. The flat itself is comfortable and well equipped! Comfortable bed, nice bath and large bright space! It was a wonderful home base for a week of wonderful adventures!

Good quiet location
This is a reasonably sized, clean apartment with a well appointed kitchen and good size bathroom and bedroom. Just a few blocks to buses or the tube. British Museum close by and plenty of restaurants and small grocery stores. Access to a washer/dryer was a much appreciated extra. Only downside was the seating. Foldout wooden chairs in the kitchen are not comfortable and the sofa is not very comfortable either. Nevertheless we would not hesitate to consider using this property again if we return to London.

A fabulous location for a very nice villa
We loved the location - walk to bus and tube no problem, British Museum two blocks, shows also nearby, and the unit is absolutely charming. We didn't note that it's a 3rd floor unit without an elevator, so note that if it would be an issue for you; otherwise James and Charlene are delightful, the unit everything we hoped for in a very quiet neighborhood.

Great location.
The property is nice but too small for 3 people. The sofa bed is very unsteady and difficult to sleep on. The bed is comfortable. I would stay again but only plan on sleeping on the bed, not the rollout.

Great Location in Bloomsbury
My wife and I stayed eight nights in early November 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. Not huge, but perfectly adequate for two people. The apartment was clean and everything was in working order; it was well-furnished and made personal with prints on the walls; and the floor plan provided some privacy/separation in a small space. My only suggestion would be to add some book shelves in the living room (there are two logical places) in order to reduce the size of the coffee table and maybe even add another chair. But those are only suggestions and we would gladly stay here again. The location is superb: close to to the British Museum, shops, Holborm tube station, etc.

Fantastic location for walking to theater, restaurants, museums, etc.
Fantastic location in great part of town, with lots of squares with trees. Everything in apartment works. Not too much of a ritzy, touristy area and lots of convenient shops, restaurants, underground and train stations. Should get a toilet seat that fits, and cover the wiring on hallway light, and remove excessive amounts of unnecessary bedding in one of the big closets so it is available for suitcase storage.

Well appointed flat that offered us easy access to the sights of London. Walking distance to Great restaurants and London shows, plus British Museum. Three blocks from metro with Sainsbury grocery store near metro.

Live like a local
We loved this little apartment. It was a perfect size for us (1 adult and 2 kids). Such an adorable area with lots of different bus routes right around the corner, and Holborn station and a number of Sainsbury's close by. Amazing Oxford Street shopping is a short walk away, and we were spoilt for choice with family friendly restaurants. The owners were great, and made everything very easy. It's on the third floor, up lots of stairs so not great for those with mobility challenges, but we had no problems. We loved our stay here and would happily return if in London again.

What a pity! It could have been much better.
Let’s start with the positive: The location is outstanding, in a nice area close to the British Museum and to Holborn station. The flat is rather spacious, bright and noiseless (at least the bedroom that doesn’t overlook the main street). The kitchen is well equipped, with all the necessary staffs. Check-in and out was easy and flexible. A lot of material (guides, brochures, advices, list of restaurants and pubs) is available for the guests’ benefit. But… The bathroom is very inconvenient: the bath takes up half of the room, leaving a very narrow space for the toilet; the basin is absurdly small (no more than a fingerbowl); there is no window nor ventilation system (or it doesn’work); it is hard to set and maintain the desired temperature of the water when taking a shower. The status of the flat appears neglected: many of the light spots on the ceiling are out of order or blink; it’s hard to open and keep opened the windows, that would require a coat of paint. Most important, cleaning was unsatisfactory: dust everywhere and long dark hairs on the floor in all the rooms. This was a matter of surprise as we hadn't read any negative comment on the subject on the previous guests' reviews. Unfortunately our experience was different.

So Convenient
Great location, we could walk to Soho, Covent Garden, West End theaters and so many restaurants, plus the Thames River. London buses were great and convenient. The stairs to the apartment and the shower in the bath were a challenge for us "seniors", but we managed.

Cute flat with good location.
Had a good stay here. Great location - safe, easy to get to Tube, lots of good restaurants and shopping nearby including grocery stores. Wifi was reliable too! Slept 2 people - one in bedroom and one on sleeper sofa. Shower with hot water and good water pressure. Only issues was a window that did not close. Owners are aware with plans to fix. Would recommend checking with owners before booking as with window open, street sounds could be loud. However, with that fixed, would stay here again!

Great location
Great location!! We were really pleased with how easy it was to get all over London from this flat. The flat was clean and sufficient for our family of 3. Loved being able to walk to lots of places and the added benefit of a nice little workout going up the stairs a few times a day. We'd definitely consider staying here again.

Terrific hosts, very convenient and clean!
The hosts were wonderfully accommodating! They made arrangements to let us into the flat early and waited for our arrival when we ended up being a little late. Very kind, very respectful, and quick to respond to any needs. Thank you! The flat is as pictured - small but capable. There were two reasons I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Please be aware the location can have a little outside noise. The situation of the flat, narrow nature of the buildings surrounding, mean that if the window is open at night - only an issue in summer - the sound carries. It was not bad, but be aware. The other reason is easily managed, but it does require management, is the water temp. Make sure you have the hosts explain what you need to do to keep the water pressure up in order to maintain the warm water temp. With those couple of minor items, we easily managed them and definitely enjoyed our stay!

Good place to stay, BUT...
We loved the spaciousness and location of Flat 3, though a lot of narrow stairs to climb. Wish all the bathroom lights and fan had been working and that the mirror were not placed so high on the wall, not very usable at all for us short people. We tried to be clean and tidy, but whoever had been in the unit before us, did leave some "trash" in hidden places and we had to wipe down counters and table which seemed sticky. We really liked Benedicte who was so helpful and cheerful and welcoming.

A great place to stay in London
This is a nice apartment for two people or small (3-person) family. It is in a quiet neighborhood a two minute walk to the British Museum, a five minute walk to the Holborn underground (or the Tottenham Court station a 7 or 8 minute walk), or a ten minute walk to Covent Garden and then into the famous West End theater district. Walk in a different direction and you are in London's famous Oxford Street shopping district within minutes. This a very safe and fun neighborhood. One of London's great bookstores, run by the London Review of Books, is literally steps away, as is a small grocery store and numerous places to eat. I recommend the Turkish food restaurant Tas at the corner of Great Russell and Bloomsbury Streets (a five minute walk). James was very attentive to our needs, and was there to help when I couldn't figure out how to use the sofa bed. There is cable, Netflix, some DVDs (small but interesting collection), travel materials, a functional kitchen (that oven cooks fast and well!), and a great heating system. The bed is comfortable and ample for two people. But who wants to stay in their apartment when all of London is outside for you to see? The building's owners (James and Charlene own the apartment, not the building) are fixing up the interior, so the stairwell is being painted and refurbished generally. We did not find that an issue, but the apartment itself is clean and looks nice. While one might see a few nicks here and there, as you would in any house, other reviewers who commented about some missing grouting or a broken tile seem to me to be overly picky. This is not a run-down apartment, but a small flat in good condition in a great London neighborhood. It felt very homey for our week's stay.

Fantastic location, easy walking to shops and restaurants in Covent Gardens and Oxford St.
We enjoyed our stay in the flat. Easy access to grocery store, tube stations, restaurants and museums. The flat is more suited to a couple (perhaps with a small child but a 3rd adult will not find the couch suitable). The hallway/stairwell gives a poor impression of the building but the actual flat although a bit worn is clean and comfortable. James was very accommodating with early check-in and had a ready supply of tea and condiments for our use. Wi-Fi worked at all times and there was no shortage of hot water. (Anyone with hip or knee problems may find the 3rd floor walk-up a bit of a challenge.)

Gorgeous, light, airy flat with perfect location
This flat was superb - modern kitchen and bathroom, high ceilings with bright lights, and an extraordinary location just 100 paces from the British Museum, also conveniently near theatreland, the Holborn Tube, grocery stores, great restaurants, and central London more generally. We stayed for three nights and loved our time there. James was very friendly and helpful, and can't recommend this place enough!

Good location, friendly proprietors, wish it were a little nicer.
The apartment was fairly central, a short walk to Holborn Tube and Tottenham Court Road, buses were also convenient, the street was quiet, and it was nice to be close to the British Museum. The proprietors were friendly and flexible when it came to letting us keep our luggage in place after the official check out time. The apartment had all the necessities for cooking, a sitting area, lots of TV options and wireless, etc. It appears the bathroom and general ceiling lighting throughout had been upgraded at some point. Based on previous reviews I expected a little bit of scuffing around the edges but must say that I was nonetheless disappointed in the condition of the apartment. Without too much effort or expense, it would be possible to improve the atmosphere quite a bit and make for a more enjoyable stay. Examples include tiles missing grout in the bathroom, tiles broken and buckling in the kitchen floor, window shade that was broken and needed to be jury rigged to bring in light to the kitchen area, half (I counted) of the lightbulbs in the ceiling of the sitting area were burned out . The water temperature in the shower was on a hair trigger and difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. The window frames in the kitchen could use a real cleaning. Storage space was limited and there was a surplus of the owners belongings in the bedroom closet, drawers, etc. The common entry and stairwell were somewhat dingy though I realize that is somewhat out of the owners control. A little rug in the sitting area and a couple more pictures on the walls would make it much homier. All in all it had the feel of a college crash pad. I know London is expensive but my feeling is this apartment was overpriced. We went on to Paris and stayed in a significantly nicer apartment for less money.

A lovely flat in the heart of London!
We spent 4 nights in this lovely flat and we truly enjoyed our stay. The flat was very clean and well equipped and Charlene was kindly flexible with our check-in time letting us get in earlier than due. The flat is spacious and comfortable, the separate bedroom has a great wardrobe and the sitting room has a good sofa bed to accomodate a third person. The kitchen has anything one may need to cook breakfast or a light meal and the bathroom is narrow but well organized. The location is really terrific, right in the heart of London, just behind the British Museum and only a few minutes walk to Covent Garden and the theatre district. We had tickets for the LettersLive shows at the Freemasons' Hall and we easily walked there every night. Many of the most famous sightseeings of the city are at walking distance, but the area is very quiet and safe anyway, also in the evening. There are 2 Tube stations near the flat (Tottenham and Holborn) and a small grocery shop at the end of the road that stays open late in the night, in case of last minute needs. Independent heating system and wifi perfectly working and easy to use. There are many books, magazines and leaflets with plenty of info about things to do and places to see spread around the flat, which can be both useful and inspiring. Communication with Charlene and James was very easy and friendly, which made everything even more pleasant and simple. We strongly recommend this flat and we do hope we'll be able to come back very soon. Thank you again Charlene and James, we had a wonderful stay at your lovely flat! Great location, comfortable and convenient.
This apartment was very suitable for my needs. It was clean and comfortable, with all the facilities in good working order. Nice bed and plenty of extra linen. This is not a five star apartment as some maintenance is needed - for example, there is a cracked tile in the kitchen. The lack of a lift would have been a problem if it weren't for James' kindly carrying my case up the three flights of stairs! However these minor issues are overridden by the apartment's handy location and reasonable price. I work for a small not-for-profit so value for money is key and I'd be happy to book this apartment again in the future..
