"There were gadens along the pathto the rooms where you can observe the birds. We even had a Quetzal one morning in the property Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. However, the receptionist could not speak very good english and we struggled to communicate with him"

"This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores. The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants...

"The price is not worth what they offer. There was no ventilation or tv in the room. Just a very tiny desk and chair. "A nice, small hotel literally a few steps from the Park entrance. A great location for the area. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great. Good starting point for our Costa Rica trip. The monkeys on the roof in the morning were free-of-charge. Is this the Ritz? No, but it is clean and comfortable.
