Welcome to The Malibu Grotto Property -

This recently renovated beachfront home is located in eastern Malibu right next to Moonshadows and has direct access to a sandy pocket beach. The interior features a kitchen with brand new stainless-steel Viking appliances, granite countertops and ocean views. The spacious living/dining area was completely redesigned with all new beach chic furnishings, automatic light-filtering blinds and a 75'' smart TV. Accordion glass doors fully open to the breathtaking panoramic ocean views from Santa Monica Bay to Point Dume.

The upstairs has new flooring with two secondary bedrooms and shared bathroom. Just down the hall, a complete separate oceanfront master-suite features a king size bed, ample closet space, large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and private balcony.

What really sets this property apart from the others is the huge 600sqft oceanfront deck down below. It allows for endless entertainment options that's set right above the Pacific Ocean and elevated patio for unobstructed sunbathing. Outdoor furniture, bar and ping-pong table complete the space.

This property is close to world-class dining, shopping, entertainment and is less than a 10-minute drive to the westside.

Great Spot
Malibu Grotto is right on the water, and right on Pacific Coast Highway. It can be a bit noisy - either from the traffic from the street or the waves crashing on the rocks. That is not meant as a negative - but more of an awareness - we loved the wave noise. There is a small beach right next to the property that is accessible and not too crowded. The house was well appointed but there were a few disappointments - the hot tub was not working; the electricity to the outdoor downstairs area was not working so it was not useable at night; there were not enough regular glasses (although plenty of wine and champagne); and no garbage bags!! All in all it was a great space and we had an amazing time.

We felt the listing was slightly misleading, but adored our stay anyway. We chose this property for the hot tub in the video and mentioned in some reviews, but were told on the way, it doesn't hold water and wasn't a part of the rental. The private beach area made us forget about it. There's no a/c so spouse opted not to join us; girl's trip! Opening the accordion doors allowed a soft beach breeze to cool the place instead, and offered a private viewing of dolphins frolicking about each morning. You can't step onto the blocked-off master balcony for safety reasons, the living room balcony is limited to 3 people, and there isn't electricity on the deck below the house. Again, the video shows otherwise. The thermostat wasn't charged and the hall shower didn't produce hot water, but we didn't need the heater, and the 2 other showers worked just fine. Julian, the property agent, explained how best to enjoy the property down to the smallest detail. He has an enjoyable sense of humor and was a pleasure to communicate with. He's professional; making efforts to correct the above issues, listens and pays attention to detail, was invested in making our trip magnificent, and delighted us in a group selfie with Malibu's Coastal Cowboy! We'll most certainly call him for our next stay in Malibu. Overall, we were comfortable in the home with its beachy charm, proximity to Santa Monica, and being exceptionally clean. We would recommend the place and Julian to our friends and family.

Amazing ocean views!
I stayed here with my wife and 2 kids. The house was surprisingly kid-friendly - they loved the bunk beds. The house is directly on the beach - you can literally lean over the balcony and spit into the ocean. There is access to a private beach adjacent to the house which was really nice. The house is gorgeous and surprisingly both spacious and cozy. There is a hot tub on the property, however, it does not come pre-filled. The only downside to this trip was having to wait for the hot tub to fill (took over an hour). Once in the hot tub, we actually saw tons of dolphins in the ocean swimming very close to the house! My kids are still talking about how cool it was watching dolphins from our hot tub! Would totally stay here again!

This place is spectacular on so many levels. Quiet and private beach area. The large deck is like none we have experienced when renting at Malibu. The most unique hot tub while listening and viewing waves, sunrise & sunsets. The master bedroom with the wide open glass doors and views unmatched in other rentals. Plenty of space and bathrooms. Julian efficient and helpful. We will return.

This house was a lovely stay for my family and I. The host was very responsive to any questions. My family really enjoyed it! Very spacious home. The beach was perfect just down the stairs. We enjoyed the perfect sunsets and enjoyed the ocean so close. We also saw dolphins! Recommend!
