From when we arrived until when we checked out the staff could not of done anything more for us and so friendly the room was very clean comfortable and plenty of room we couldn't not of been happier with it we highly recommend it
Some comunal areas affected by the builders but generally cleanliness was good.
The staff were very friendly, breakfasts and two evening meals were very good. The room fine but in the bathroom I would have liked a shelf or a surface by the handbasin and a grab rail in the shower even though the floor was non slip.
An enjoyable stay and can be recomended.
Very friendly relaxed and welcoming . Cannot comment on breakfast as we had to leave early. We did have lunch on arrival and the Fish Share Platter was amazing .
Had a great stay. We were there for the reggae fest at another venue that finished at 8pm & by pure change the hunting lodge had a SKA night on. So was great carrying on. Enjoyed it so much. Had a great sleep with comfy bed & fab cooked breakfast £10 each extra but well worth it. The staff were friendly & helpful. Will definitely stay again.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. It has a clean and bright large bathroom . There is a large garden to enjoy and it’s a short walk to the river
Helpful friendly staff from the moment I arrived to the moment I left.
The restaurant should be visited.
Good car parking facilities
Leaving on the Sunday morning well before "breakfast" began proved not to be a problem as a tray with a perfect Continental breakfast was left outside the door while I was using the en-suit shower.
A really nice welcome on arrival.
My room was amazing, a big 4 poster bed, old wooden wardrobe and period chair.
Plenty of choice for tea and coffee.
I had fish and chips which was lovely and I didnt see any plates on other tables that hadn't been eaten completely, so must be good.
A real fire kept thing really nice and cosy and the guiness was spot on.
Continental breakfast in the morning was great and my croissant was lively and fresh and warm.
Friendly welcome, upgraded to a bigger room. All staff were very friendly, and our room was in keeping with the age and character of the building. Big fluffy towels, molten brown shower gel and a very comfortable bed. The bed did squeak as we moved, the only downside to the room. Loved the location, great value, and we would definitely stay here again.
Second business trip here. Even though I got here just before closing, due to a 3 hour M6 closure, everyone was just as helpful and nice as the last time. Check-in easy. Room, service, food, drink & people great. As Arnie said...
Great hotel with boutique rooms. The staff were simply amazing, so friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and although a bit tired in places was spotlessly clean. We upgraded from continental breakfast to full English and omg, it was so good and a very large portion. I must also mention the coffee which was, and this is no exaggeration the best we have ever tasted, it was from ‘Forge’ coffee roasters in Sheffield if you are interested. If we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to stay here again.
