Lakefront Airstream - Farm Animals - Fish, Swim, Boat, Hike/Bike 5+Miles Trails

Renovated 1965 Airstream sits Lakefront w/ all modern conveniences, including fully stocked kitchen, full bath, AC, and Heat. Just steps away from an 8 acre private Lake with your own beach, dock, and Kayaks. Nestled into the forest on our farm and surrounded by 142 wooded acres with 5+Miles of Hike/Biking trails. Enjoy Swimming, Kayaking, Fishing, Hike/Biking, visit our Farm Animals, or just relax by the fire. Only our family, Log Cabin/ Tugboat listings have access to the Lake and Property.

*Please read entire listing*
Our goal is to provide a unique adventure for guests with all the conveniences of home. The Lakefront Retro Airstream is located on the opposite side of the Lake as the Log cabin and Main house (about .25 Mile) and same side as the Tugboat (about .2 Miles) Guests can drive over the Dam to the other side of the lake where you can park (Paved road except last 1400' is gravel/dirt 4x4 is NOT normally needed except in snow/ice).

Inside Space: Inside the Airstream there is a Kitchen with gas cooktop, microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator w/ freezer, utensils and everything for your cooking needs. We provide coffee, tea, sugar, flour, condiments(ketchup, mustard, mayo) along with spices and cooking oils. There is a lovely dining area (which converts into a queen bed) at the front with view of the lake and kitchen, a single bed is located in the middle and a small full bathroom is also located at the back with a very small shower/tub and composting toilet. A curtain can be drawn to separate the bathroom area from the rest of the Airstream (there is no door).

The Outdoor space: Is very well lit at night by twinkle lights (can be turned off) which makes for a very romantic setting. The red/yellow break and side lights of the Airstream can also be turned on with a switch in the kitchen. Enjoy your coffee or cocktails on the deck with lakefront views. The Airstream and deck are covered incase of rain and includes a loveseat, coffee table and two chairs.
The large fire pit has a metal cooking grate for grilling and 4 modern Adirondack chairs. Two wood swings are in front of the fire pit, perfect for fun and cooling off on a hot day.
Your own beach area and dock sits just a few feet from the Airstream to play, fish, launch boats or slowly wade into the water. Two kayaks are provided and trails are right outside your door that can be taken all the way around the lake and more!
We also have some farm animals...Sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, and rabbits that you can meet and feed. You will most likely meet our golden-doodle Mabel. She is extremely friendly but please do let us know if she's a bother. She enjoys meeting new guests and their furry companions and is wonderful with kids!

We sell dry firewood or you can help yourself to any fallen wood that you can find.
Fishing is "Catch and Release". The Lake is stocked with Crappie, Blue Gill, and Large Mouth Bass. Several 7lb+ Bass have been caught and released.
There is a TV w/ DVD player and we provide a small selection of DVDs.

WiFi: WiFi is provided by Starlink and works quite well for streaming, work, emails, social media, movies, etc.

The Composting Toilet: After extensive research we selected a top of the line Swedish composting toilet. A small fan runs constantly to pull air outside, and a flap opens and closes when you sit so you never see or smell the waste. It works wonderfully as long as you follow the #1 Rule: Everyone Sits! This way liquid and solid waste is separated. TP can be deposited in the same compartment as the solid waste. There is nothing special that guests need to do, just sit and do your business.

Our Tugboat listing uses the same road around the lake and passes the Airstream beach area to access their parking spot 100-200' away.

We do allow pets on a case by case basis. We charge a $100 pet fee before your stay and only allow 2 dogs max. Please be courteous and wipe muddy paws to keep things well maintained. Thank you!

There is never a lifeguard on duty! Please use life vests and supervise children. By booking with us you agree to use the lake, trails, and property at your and your guests own risk.
Swimming, or any other water play is at your own risk. You are accepting responsibility of yourself and other guests when having full use of the property, trail hikes, biking, swimming...etc.

Please use your best judgement when bringing children of all ages, if you are unsure about something please ask.
No parties.
No outside guests allowed.
No motorized vehicles on trails or Lake

Is there Heat and A/C? Yes, there is one roof mounted A/C unit and will be equipped with space heaters durning the cold months (It stays quite warm with little effort). Of course the airstream will not regulate temperature as well as a home so please come prepared with warm and cold weather clothes.
How are the bugs? The Airstream is in the middle of the forest on a Lake, so yes there will be bugs, frogs, toads, and all that mother nature has to offer. Mosquitos are not bad at all, but bring bug spray anyway.

Can you Swim in the Lake? Yes, our family swims here on a regular basis.

Is it safe for kids? Please note that while we have done our best to make the Property safe for everyone, it may not be suitable for all young children. Please use your best judgement as parents.
Is there running water? Yes, there is 2- 50 Gallon tanks of water and a pump that turns on when you open a faucet. If you run out during your stay we can easily fill it back up! 50 gallons usually lasts 3-5 days. We do provide biodegradable soap in the shower and at the kitchen sink.
Is there a grill? The fire pit has a grate that swings over the fire for grilling over wood or charcoal! It is also the perfect setup for S'Mores!
Do you need 4 wheel drive? No except in cases of snow/ice, after our paved driveway the road turns to gravel and dirt. However, it is hard packed soil and fairly easy to manage for most cars. If you are concerned, you can park on the driveway and we will help you get to the Airstream.

The Airstream itself, deck, fire pit, dock, 2 kayaks and beach area are all yours. Shared use of the Lake, Trails, and the rest of the Property.

Our family lives on the property at the opposite side of the lake. We are available at most times of the day and are typically here should you need anything during your stay. Our small farm has chickens, ducks, dwarf goats, sheep, and rabbits. We love sharing the animals with guests, please let us know if you would like to visit and feed them.

Relaxing weekend to reconnect
My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Airstream at Lake Glen Haven. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking over the firepit, hiking atound the lake and soaking in the beautiful views. The Airstream was very well stocked and we had everything we needed. The shower was also surprisingly nice! We were able to meet the owners Ashleigh and Mike and they even brought us some fresh eggs from their chicken coopšŸ˜Š Their goldendoodle, Mabel was also the perfect host and came to check on us oftenšŸ¾šŸ˜ We're looking forward to visiting again soon!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a simple quaint getaway and we got exactly that! The area was beautiful, the owners were more than kind and we also fell in love with the daily duck visits. We hope to return next fall.

A little slice of heaven!
This was our 3rd time staying at Lake Glen Haven, but our first time renting the airstream! This property is truly one of our favorite places and such a peaceful getaway. The airstream had everything we needed for a short getaway. We spent majority of the time fishing, kayaking, relaxing in the hammock chairs, or around the fire. We loved that the ducks would visit us everyday to be fed and Mabel, their golden doodle would come over and say hi! We couldnā€™t recommend this place and hosts enough!!!

Perfect for weekend getaway!!
My friend and I stayed in the airstream at Lake Glen Haven for 2 nights! Absolutely perfect for a girls glamping weekend! Ashleigh and Mike are wonderful hosts and they have literally thought of EVERYTHING! You can just show up with your food and clothes! They even included eggs from their own chickens. We were welcomed by Mabel (the sweetest Goldendoodle) and some excited ducks (jar of duck food also included inside the airstream :) My friend and I enjoyed sitting by our own private dock, kayaking, hiking the trails around the lake and in the woods, and building a fire each night by the twinkly lights. Itā€™s very peaceful. We slept comfortably in the airstream each night. We enjoyed figuring out how to do things in the smaller space, that was part of the fun! I would highly recommend staying in the airstream at Lake Glen Haven or any of the other properties that Mike and Ashleigh own! They truly do care that each guest has an amazing experience and definitely love what they do!

Amazing!!!
We were looking for a getaway experience and when we came across the airstream stay we thought..why not. I was hopeful for nice, but wow! It was so nice and top notch for a refurbished airstream. All the details the owners take to make your stay memorable, comfortable and a feel for something special are insanely thoughtful and considerate, even a bowl of fresh farm eggs for breakfast waiting in the fridge. Then thereā€™s the propertyā€¦beautiful. We hiked for hours on trails with well crafted trail signs that guided us to the next. We met other guests staying on the property, one family in the log cabin and another staying in the tugboat. Yes! They have a tugboat VRBO. The lake is beautiful with all you need, kayaks, paddle board, fishing poles, and Adirondack chairs for just relaxing, we even had the opportunity to hand feed the ducks. We were fortunate to meet the owners, Mike and Ashleigh, one of their beautiful children, Fiona, and Mable their golden doodle. We appreciate the time and effort they put into the beautiful experience they are sharing with others. We will absolutely return!! Such a wonderful time and we strongly encourage others to stay! -Kim and Tim

Peaceful getaway.
We had a great time relaxing and walking about the property. Cathy loved the ducks and Timmy the turkey. We cooked breakfast and a couple of dinners over the campfire. Exploring the area around town was also very enjoyable.

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful time in the airstream and at the lake. The lights, fire pit and porch setup is beautiful, and even when it rained we could easily sit on the porch as a family. Ashleigh was a great host and even let our daughter meet some of the animals (which are very tame and came right up to the edge of their enclosure to say Hi). The surrounding forest has some short trails you can enjoy as a walk from your front door, and it was nice having such easy access to kayaks. Highly recommend!

Anniversary Getaway
We had such a great time spending the weekend in the airstream! The entire place was clean and well labeled so we could easily find things. The site was spacious and close to the lake where we caught a couple fish! Our dog also loved the walking paths and it was overall such a wonderful weekend!!

A slice of paradise
An absolute hidden gem and perfect for couples. Itā€™s romantic, aesthetic and as they call it, ā€œissa vibeā€. The airstream had everything we needed from pots, cutting utensils, oils, seasoning, full bath, 2 bed areas and a lounging area in front. We were surprised at how nice this place truly was! You also get direct access to their private lake. Here we had kayaks, reclining beach chairs and a paddle board all ready to be used! We took advantage of petting the animals on the farm and the owners were delightful. They showed us around, let us feed the goats, gave us fresh eggs from their chicken coop along with freshly picked fruits/veggies. Itā€™s seriously a hidden gem and we cannot wait to come back.

Relaxing and fun getaway!
Pack a change of clothes, a bathing suit, a beach towel and go. Literally everything you need is there. It's a beautiful property that is maintained exceptionally well. We caught some bass, crappies and blue gills in the lake. Multiple spaces to hang out - the covered deck, the fire pit, and the dock. LOTS of trails to explore. Nearby Gordonsville has good restaurants. Owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Will definitely return.
