"During our 5-day trip to Hunter Valley and Port Stephens, this hotel was by far the best choice we made. For our anniversary trip, the hotel staff upgraded us to the Hunter Suite and surprised us with a lovely bottle of local sparkling wine—such a thoughtful touch! We also had dinner at Botanica, one of their associated restaurants, located about a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The meal was excellent and well worth the trip. Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight, as we enjoyed it...

The pool area is very dated and bar near pool was closed during the busy Christmas/ NY period which was disappointing. There is not enough staff which impacted service and don't bother calling reception from your room as it just rings out. We were in a villa close to the main area but if you happen to get a further one expect to be walking up and down hills. We had thought there was an adult only...

"We just spent a night here and the Convent is beautiful. Lovely surroundings, nice pool and a lovely comfy room opening out onto a lovely shared balcony with comfy seats. Breakfast was good and our waitress was super nice and attentive. Getting a local taxi in the evening was tricky so just be aware that the well known online ride share company does have taxis in the Hunter Valley! "
