Quaint Cottage
My wife and I had a great time at this cabin in Syria. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Definitely will be back for another visit.

Father/Son get away
My five year old and I stayed here over the weekend as a trip before he starts kindergarten. We had a wonderful time fishing, making s’mores and memories. Thanks for sharing your place with us. It’s the perfect get away from anybody.

Great Stay
Was nice to unplug for a couple days to just play games and fish with the kids. Very quiet and relaxing time for the 4 of us.

We had a wonderful time relaxing. The cabin was perfect for us. We hiked the trails and enjoyed the Yoder's market for lunch. Friendly people all around. Definetly coming back.

Great location, clean cabin, lots of fun!
Really enjoyed our stay at ORMC. The checkin process was simple and the cabin was very clean. Had no issues whatsoever. Had a great time fishing, hiking, and swimming in the surrounding area. Will likely return at some point!

Cozy and Welcoming Stay
The property is remote but check-in directions provided by the hosts were clear and easy to follow. The cabin was clean and had plenty of linens and towels, along with a reasonably well-stocked kitchenette. Overall, a lovely stay - note there is internet or cellphone service!

Weekend getaway!
The cabin is very cozy and private, although there are neighbors but no one too close. It is very dated and better not suited for kids under 4 yrs of age ( because of the wood stove location and outlets) The pond view is very pretty. We visited a few local wineries. Overall, we had a very relaxed stress-free weekend. We would definitely return. I bet fall is beautiful there. It is not handicapped accessible.

two night winter stay
My wife and I wanted to do something different for a getaway. It was cold and misty but really cozy. The fireplace was great. We did some trails with the dog each day and ate out at night. Two days was enough but spring or summer we probably could stay a week.

Be Careful...
The cabin is well located to the Madison County, VA area and it is secluded. However, it's old, crusty & musty and a bit overdue for a make over. Kinda reminds me of an old boy scout camp. The biggest issue, however, is access to the cabin itself. I would have to advise anyone with any mobility issue at all to think carefully before renting. The approaches are steep, many high rise steps that are made from concrete blocks and in very poor deteriorated condition. And there's no way to position your vehicle directly next to the cabin entrance doors for unloading & loading. So if you must rent here, I'd strongly advise packing very lightly or you'll be dragging your gear up and down over the damaged concrete steps. It's a slip & fall lawyers dream really. We left a day early as a result.

Very peaceful
The cabin was clean and the location was ideal. Hardly heard a human sound during our stay. Had raccoons visit a couple of times, but they were actually pretty cute. Beds comfy and clean. I like to experience different venues, so might not stay here again. But, I would give them cudos for their cabin.

Wonderful cabin in a beautiful setting. Very poor directions for finding cabin. Mailbox is brown, and very hard to read. Once we found it we had a perfect stay

Very rustic but that's just what I wanted.
Cabin could use more movies and better directions to local stores and places to see like the falls since there's no GPS.

Peaceful Getaway
The cabin is clean and cozy. The balcony does face the pond, but couldn't see much of it because some small tree branches block the view. I would have liked to see more of the pond from the balcony. However, walk down to dock and get a gorgeous view of the pond. Caught 4 Bream off the dock as well. If like privacy, peace and quiet, this is the place to be.

Cozy new year's getaway
We had a lovely new year's weekend tucked away in Jane's cozy cabin. Her directions and instructions to get to and get in the cabin are very good, given that you will lose cell signal about 5-6 miles away from the cabin. My gps did still work correctly, but be prepared not to rely on it. There are also a good number of steps to get to the cabin from the driveway. This isn't a place for anyone with mobility issues. That said, we had the best time unplugging, just watching movies, going for walks around the pond, watching deer and other wildlife go about their day. It was not a big deal to get back to Madison for groceries. And Graves Mountain Lodge and a little deli are very close by. It was perfect for a weekend getaway.

Exceeded Our Expectations
I don't know about sleeping 6 adults comfortably, but it was more than enough room for my girlfriend and I. The cabin is picturesque on the side of a hill with a pond below. The kitchen was perfect for my girlfriend who cooked dinner, me cooking breakfast, and wine from the nearby vineyard in front of the wood burning stove. We'd absolutely consider returning in the warmer months with the all the trees in the area. We'd recommend whiteoak canyon to the north and DuCard Winery nearby.

Nice stay overall
Cozy cabin on a pond, close to Shenandoah and near wineries and restaurants. My husband and I had a lovely weekend with the dog. We followed the written instructions but the cabin was still hard to find. We had to call and get further instructions. And small details were lacking (like dish soap and hand soap were very low when we checked in.) Other than that, overall, I would recommend the experience for a rustic, quiet weekend.

Rustic hideaway
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin! Tucked into a small hillside without cell service, it feels just "off the grid" enough without being really too far removed from anything. The directions that they send via email are really helpful since google maps won't always work out there (pro tip: download maps of the area before you go!). The cabin has two comfortable beds, a full working kitchen, a nice interior stove for fires, and a decent shower. Just be careful parking and coming up and down the hill to the cabin in the winter because it does get icy.

you're down to be unplugged in a cozy spot with no frills, this is the place for you.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as a "mini honeymoon", it was the perfect escape to completely unplug and relax following our crazy busy summer and wedding weekend. The kitchen is bare bones but had what we needed to cook some simple meals (pot, pan, strainer, spatula, etc). The bed in the larger room was not very comfortable for me but my husband didn't mind it, so if you're finniky about mattresses take that into account. The pond and surrounding area is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting by the firepit in the evening. Close to hiking trails with waterfalls and a nice country store which we really enjoyed visiting. The AC in the cabin worked well to cool the small space and it was a very hot week! Overall, we were thrilled with our stay and my husband kept saying he wished we had booked a full week.

Saftey First
I wish that I was informed about all the steps to get to the cabin. I as well as my family member have a disability and had to go up 25 steps to and from the cabin. 20 of the steps had no railing to hold on to and a a few of the steps at the top were broken. Otherwise I loved the cabin and it was very clean.

happily unplugged
Our stay was just about perfect. We hoped for peace and quiet and fishing and that's just what we got!!! The bed in the main bedroom was exceptionally uncomfortable and dipped us down into the middle; so we move to the other bedroom and that was much better. Still---wish we had planned on staying a little longer than we did. Oh--and if you are older or have physical challenges this is not for you----lots of steep stairs to get up into the cabin. But we loved it...especially because we had no cell or wi-fi service. Sometimes---you just need to unplug and delight in God's creations!!
