Luray farmhouse on the river

A beautiful, private farmhouse on the Shenandoah River. This is a great place for the outdoor enthusiast and adjoins the George Washington National Forest. This location is perfect for hiking, kayaking, fishing with a public boat ramp near by. Multiple bedrooms and lots of beds a. Huge master bedroom with riverfront view, large bathrooms, dressers, a large living/sitting area, TV, large full kitchen, pantry and laundry room. Enjoy beakfast on us your first morning! WE NOW HAVE AC!

The space
The exterior has security cameras.

The bottom floor has a full kitchen, coffee bar, dining room, living room, TV, internet, leather sofa and recliner, large bathroom, large master bedroom with King bed and a pull out futon. There are fireplaces but they are not available to be used.

There is a lot of room in this house. please understand if you want the entire house you must make your reservation for 18ppl. other wise bedding is arranged for amount of people.

There is a master bedroom downstairs, a futon, a sofa and a recliner.

Upstairs there is a king a 2 queens and a double , 2 twins and 2 futons and a full Bathroom.

Guests will have acess to the home as well as all outdoor areas. Please make sure to understand, there are lots of sharing space in this house. We set bedding for amount of people. Not individual bedrooms. If you want access to the entire house you must book house for 18ppl. We just opened up the other bedrooms upstairs.

Other things to note
We are open to you bringing your pets but please let us know in advanced what your needs may be. You are responsible for any pet damage.

Again make sure you understand this house is set by bedding. Not by individual rooms and is able to sleep up to 18 people.

Tubing bachelor party
Great place for our tubing bachelor party. The house was clean, great location, plenty of space and bedding for our group! They were able to accommodate our last minute request to increase our increase of guests. It was perfect and close to the river rider outfitters, for tubing down the Shenandoah river. We will definitely stay here again for the next event down by luray! Great place and a great host!

Beautiful location
Quaint farmhouse in a beautiful location. We loved watching the cattle in the adjoining fields and saw wild turkeys. Amenities are basic. Would not recommend for the posted occupancy of 22. The TV room seats 7, for perspective. The single most needed improvement are blinds or curtains for all windows in the bedrooms. The windows are large and beautiful, but most people will not want to change clothes in the 1st floor bedroom when they could be seen from the side porch. We did have a good time.

Spectacular farmhouse on the river
An incredible rental for a group of friends or family gathering. This would be the perfect place if only it had a dock or landing on the riverfront property. Floating down from different public boat launches. One option gives you a 6 hour float to the house or about 4 1/2 hours boat launch to boat launch. Or from 0.5 miles up the road to the farmhouse in an 1 1/2 or approximately 5 beers! The beers are needed to stomach the mushy takeout! Everything else was perfect!

Excellent House for River Tubing/Float
House is nice in size, and has beds for friends and family to get together for a river float. Everything needed is at the house and the property manager is easy to get in contact with. Internet and AC are bonus!

Beautiful farmhouse and countryside
It was easy to rent Although I had to be taught how to use the VRBO site. The rooms are spacious. We really needed that last bedroom but it was out of commission due to the former renters because those futons are not comfortable. But the beds were and the rooms were large and airy. First place we’ve stayed that actually had room for all nine of us in the dining room. It was great and I would wholly consider coming back again.

Charming farmhouse in idyllic setting
Beautiful views of Shenandoah River and adjoining farm. Our group enjoyed the firepit and large grassy yard for outdoor games. We also liked the layout of dining room with 3 separate tables for small group conversation. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook for a group. We used all beds and futons for our group of 14 students & chaperones, but sleeping 22 as advertised would be tight unless you put children on the futons. We could have used a few more lawn chairs so our whole group could sit outside because the living room has limited seating capacity. The hosts responded promptly to all our questions, and we had a great time enjoying the attractions in Luray area.

Not a comfortable place to spend time inside .
Was 60 degrees upon arrival and took a long to warm up . No access to river . No reading lamps . Should have been told that bathroom access through one of the 2 bedrooms upstairs was through the two rooms. Had to go outside at night and come downstairs to use the bathroom to avoid disturbing individual in the other bedroom.

Check in was easy! The house was spacious and big for the 4 of us! We had a great time. Waking up to cows and the silence of the rural world is peaceful Breakfast was available for us the first morning! Definitely will stay again

Beautiful property but no curtains
Loved the gorgeous fields, cows, river and serenity it brought. + lots of windows but - not much sleep past 6am, so bring a sleeping mask. Water is sulfuric. If you run it for a bit, as host suggests in notes, it tastes fine. All of us felt the house smelled like eggs though. Candles helped. Two who took showers said it never really got hot. Also, it didn’t seem clear in photos that my adult son’s bedroom and mine would have no door between. I asked for 3 rooms and got them, but the room with the pillow saying “love you to the moon and back” is a walk through the room with the blue and pink quilt. So be sure you clarify separate bedrooms. It really is a beautiful place!

Beautiful Old Farmhouse!
We had a wonderful time! Love this beautiful old farmhouse, on the river and surrounded by cow pastures. Very peaceful! Everything else was crazy due to peak season, but here it was serene and peaceful. A short drive into town or to skyline or other area attractions, but we enjoyed our peaceful time at the house. Very comfortable and beautiful accommodations!

Great house in a great location!
This house was very spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor areas. The gas grill and fire pit were not specifically mentioned on the listing but were pleasant surprises! A short drive to Shenandoah River Outfitters for river activities and and even shorter drive to a local spot to use the river on your own, too. A great find!

River Relaxation & Tranquility
My wife and two young children had a wonderful, peaceful, and relaxing stay. The old farm house has lots of character and tons of space relative to our DC row house. The views of the river are beautiful from the covered porches. The kids (5 and 8) never seemed to get bored playing in the small stream that flows down one side of the property. It provided hours of largely supervision-free entertainment for them. There is easy access to the river. Downtown Luray, the caverns, restaurants, grocery stores are all a short drive (~10 mins) away, but on the farm, you feel completely secluded from the outside world. It's just you and the cows. Sharon was incredibly responsive and very easy to work with. Our only hesitation about recommending this house is that it might make it more difficult for us to rent in the future.
