"This is a great house, with tons of space. Ample indoor dining and living space was augmented by a pleasant yard. Easy to find, within walking distance of a grocery and coffee stand, across from the famed Red Shoe, this was also a good homebase for visits to west coast beaches (and sunsets) the national park and other island attractions. Host is kind and friendly, as were the neighbors. All in all - a wonderful experience. I hope we can return some day."

"The house was quite nice overall. A little disappointing that the woodstove didn't work, especially as the weather was cool and wet. The water is quite soft, but tastes good; and the water heater works fine. We spent a chilly first night as the baseboard heaters were set to 10C (50F), and the control buttons are really tiny and hard to notice. A heads up from the owner would have been helpful. It was plenty warm once I found the controls. The setting is beautiful, and the stairs down to the lake...

We thought we were WAY off the beaten path because of the way we arrived, only to find coming in from the other end of the road was a much closer trip into town. "Centrally located, my stay at The Lookout allowed me to attend three outstanding Celtic Colours concerts in Judique, Cheticamp and Mabou. The accommodation is all that was promised… spotless, all amenities, comfortable bed, great shower, cozy even as the October temperatures dipped and wind drove the waves along the coast. One morning, I walked to the shore on the private path… here are some of my impressions— Collindale I walk a well-tended path to the shore past the lonely cormorant perched on Sutherland’s Pond past the pair of flickers startled from feeding on rose hips Up and over, through wind-waved dune grass to powder soft sloping sands white-capped waves sailing on blue water Crashing the beach I follow the faint track of a coyote stopping to see where he circled round a derelict lobster trap once fragrant bait bag hanging from wire ribs I sit on a weathered trunk bleached by sun and salt water watch a flight of crows helter-skeltered by the wind On my slow-stepping return through the tangle of bayberry and regosa one last raspberry reveals all of summers sweetness on my tongue October 17 2024 "
