good price good rooms

For the price the hotel was pretty good. It did need maintaince... hot tub cold (pool very warm). But of course that can be fixed. The room was nice and the employees were very nice and helpful. Nice inexpensive place to stay. It should not charge the same price as the bigger chain hotels, however with a little renovation it would surley keep up with any larger hotel chain. Which makes it the hotel of choice for thoses just needing a place to sleep. NOTE: Very close to all the activities of Mackinaw City.

Not all impressed

I got the wrong room first of all. After a few hours I decided to confront them and it got changed. Staff was on computer or no where to be found. Atmosphere was dark and dreary.

Completely Dissatisfied

The room had a strong deodorizing (nauzeating) smell in it. When another room was offered, it smelt even worse. There were no toilet tissues in the bathroom upon arrival. The beds were worn out. The view out of the room was overlooking the run down roof of the building. Sauna had obviously been not working for quite some time. Work out room was a joke as it was being used as a storage room for excess doors. The pool water was visibly dirty. The restaurant was closed. The electronic door key worked only 1st time and had to be reprogrammed again and again.

Bizarre

1/2 hotel, 1/2 retirement home. Seemed like there were many elderly permanant residents. Our room wasn't even made up when we checked in. We had to call the front desk to request it be made up. This was at 6:30 pm.

Cheap price and you get what you pay for.

The price is cheap, the rooms are pretty run down, the pool is not so nice. The people at the front desk were pretty friendly and helpful. Overall, it's a good place to stay on a budget but don't expect too much.

new location, making improvements, convenient location

The Cedarbrook has moved into a former Ramada Inn so the current Expedia map location needs updating. It's just off the US 23 exit off of I75. Room was fine, they are upgrading some guest ammenties, people were using the pool. Big Boy adjoins the parking lot so breakfast was fast and easy. We would stay there again for the price and location.

Great room for the money

I really liked the kitchen and the frig. I loved the fan they did with the towels

We were budgeting for this part of the trip so no bells and whistles but we slept fine here. It was clean, just throw back to the 70's...

Needs Improvement

I wish I had read the reviews of this hotel before making my reservation. The toilet handle came off in my hand twice: before it was repaired and afterwards. When I brought the toilet handle to the main desk, they chuckled and sent a maintenance man to repair it. He responded quickly, but the repair did not last beyond the first flush ...... after he had left. An adjoining door of my room opened on to a storeroom stacked with doors and mattresses and my guests were a little concerned that they could open a door inside their room onto the adjoining room right next to them. Fortunately, that room remained empty of clients during their stay. This hotel is quite bizarre. Its saving grace is that it makes for a funny story afterwards.

Just an old hotel

We deciced to take a chance on this low cost hotel. We read several reviews stating how bad it was but, it was just old. It was clean, quiet, and the pool stayed open until 11:00. All we were needing was a place to sleep at night. It's nothing to write home about but, we would stay there again.

Not Impressed.... at all!!!

Well, I don't know where to start!!! First of all, we were not given the slightest idea that this was a senior home doubling up as a motel. The sheets had stains on them, no coffee pot in the room, no breakfast in the mornings, bad air conditioning... uncomfortable bed... i could go on and on!!! Also, we had asked for one queen bed and ended up getting a room with 2 twins. Anyway, long story short... DO NOT STAY IN THIS ONE!!!
