"We were given a beach villa for 4 persons in the south east of the island and it was amazing: very spacious, wonderful beach, great seaside, 5mins walk from restaurant and bar. The room was extremely clean, everything was in working order (ac, tv, kettle, fan). Wifi speed in the room was poor (~1 Mbps), only sufficient for messaging and emails, but one doesn’t come here to work. The free boat trips to the coral reef were great, the crew was extremely pleasant. Same for the line fishing excursions. The only excursion we didn’t like was the island hopping tour: no effort was made to make us like the islands we visited. We were shown the dumpsters twice, everyone was extremely puzzled by the choices of our guide. After this “trash tour” we were left wandering around aimlessly for half an hour. We went for half board and were extremely pleased with the breakfast and dinner buffet: there is sufficient variety to not get bored if you stay for 1 week. We ate our lunches at Velu bar / Al fresco restaurant. Service was a bit slow at times, but food and drinks were excellent. Plus the view from the restaurant is great. The drinks are often discounted (happy hour). Overall the staff was helpful and gentle. There is a bit of language barrier but with a little of patience communication is not a problem. "
