Very social place! I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm and it was good! The sangria night everyday is great. Showers and lockers are good. The rooms’s are quite spacious. Great overall! Would recommend!

The location is great—super close to Plaza Mayor and well-connected for getting to other interesting spots in Madrid. The rooms are a bit small, but they were clean and perfectly fine for a short stay. The hostel has a nice rooftop, though it closes early. Overall, it’s a good option in Madrid, but it didn’t quite have that classic hostel vibe that makes it easy to meet new people.

Literally steps from Plaza Mayor. The staff always ask if they can help or how you’re doing. I’ve stayed here once prior and came back because it’s perfectly located, the staff is friendly, roof top bar

The staff was just amazing. So helpful and available 24/7. The location is great - so close to Mayor Real. The site is clean and safe and I met nearly everyone staying there. I'm 58 yrs old and have never felt younger or hipper than I did staying here. Every night is free Sangria - and a chance to meet fellow travelers - and the roof bar is so cool! Great value breakfast, too! Couldn't be happier that I stayed here.

The area was great. You can see all the sites in 30 minutes walking . The Hat staff was fantastic. My only complaint was how loud it was everywhere in the building , but i guess that’s to be expected in a hostel . I would recommend curtains on the beds

Hostel with a great atmosphere & friendly staff. Great location, 5 minutes by feet from the Sol metro station and right next to a chill out area in the city center. Really nice breakfast on the rooftop ! Pretty quiet and chill out place, but if you want to go out and socialize, they also offer some plans for group activities as well. I would just say that there's room for improvement around the shared bathrooms : they are pretty small, not that convenient and suffering from a lack of privacy ^^ But overall, the place is still highly recommended ! ;-)

The location of this hostel is great, really central and you can walk everywhere. I did not take part of any activities but they habe organized pub crawl, sangria workshop and more. They have a nice rooftop patio and has happy hours starting at 5pm. I was staying in a 4 bed room w private bathroom, which was all i expected from a hostel. It was clean. The only issue i had was the sound from the street. If i had to stay there again, I'd not stay on the street side (ask for a courtyard room).

They did not accept to cancel the reservation. By mistake I booked a female-only dormitory and as a man I couldn't be there. The place was contacted on time and the case was exposed, but they refused to find solutions, they literally stole the money.

Breakfast was amazing and bed was comfortable. I appriciated good reading light and plug by the pod / bed. Everything was just great but that night when I was a customer at The Hat I didn`t sleep well at all. Two persons had sex at the end of my bed. It was a womens dormitory and I don`t know how the guy got in there but it was nasty and after 28 hour of travelling a good night sleep would be nice. I was so astonished about this and tired that I did not get up and go to the reseption. At the morning reseptionist told that they can`t help it and customer should come to them right away when somthing like this happens. I hope this was one-off time and not a ordinary situation at The Hat.
