The service was amazing! There were indoor and outdoor springs that were a decent size. Both felt so good! I just wish there were English instructions in what to do prior entering the springs.
It was really nice and relaxing...its a great Japanese ryokan. Time passes by so fast when I was inside the ryokan...and there is no need to go out of the ryokan to find anything...thats what I call worthy of a relaxing stay. Dinner and breakfas werent in our room but that was ok as we have chosen the twin beds on raised platform rather than futons and tatami. The beds, pillows and quilt were really comfortable. The bathroom was just ok as its rather compact and a bit bigger than a budget hotel but I guess its ok if one just goes for the hot springs in the ryokan. The hot springs were "certified natural hot springs" I gathered. The view from our room was not great but its ok. Only regret was that they were renovations going on in the front yard and garden making it an awkward experience while enjoying the foot bath. I do hope to return when there is a lot of snow...
Ein Ryokan Erlebnis in den Bergen. Sehr gutes Essen. Reisezeit Ende März etwas zu früh - zu spät zum Schifahren. Unmittelbare Umgebung nicht besonders anregend.
I booked the japanese room. However, upon arrival, I booked a twin room and asked to pay the extra.
It was more than double the amount you already paid. I was very embarrassed to hear that at a late hour. I don't know what to do because the ryokan is located in a deep forest.
I am very suspicious that they behaved in such a way because we are foreigners with a poor language.
Two Japanese and three foreigners. We first entered the ryokan, and the Japanese came later. As we entered, the mistress greeted and squinted.
We made us sit down and asked for a supplement. But when the Japanese came in and protested, they changed.
This service of Ryokan was very bad. If all five were foreigners, we probably paid the requested fee.
If foreigners use this ryokan, I do not want to recommend it.
