We knew from the reviews that it was going to be great but we were not prepared for the magnificent views, the magical outdoor space and the incredible sense of privacy. It was mesmeric, utterly breathtaking and we loved every minute of our stay. We also thoroughly enjoyed the local area, including the beaches, great restaurants and the Palace of Knossos. "Very comfortable and clean apartments. Well appointed with everything you need and short walk to restaurants, supermarkets, beaches. We stayed in apartment 5 which has a sea view. There is also a nice rooftop area with tables, chairs and sun beds The owners are very friendly and welcoming and provided wine, water, juice and fruit for us in arrival and gave us a gift on departure. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it"

"The apartments are amidst an olive grove in a very calm and lovely spot, surrounded by a lovely garden. The apartment we rented was very nice with a cosy veranda. Wondeful beaches and taverns nearby and Ierapetra only a 15 min drive away. I highly recommend it for a stay!"

The Management Company looked after a couple of issues which arose, including loss of hot water, very quickly. Makry Gialos is a fantastic and authentic resort, away from the tourist hot spots.
