"We booked this property for a weekend visit to Maldon to surprise my Dad, whose grandparents lived in the town, for his 70th birthday. The property was fantastic - like stepping back in time. The beds were extremely comfortable and we loved the little touches put in place by the owners like local produce and notes of what to do in/around town. The owners also went the extra mile organising champagne from Avoca and an amazing cake from the local bakery to be placed in the fridge upon arrival -...

"Lovely property, renovated (but not "restored") to high standard but modern electricals (great wifi, TV) and kitchen/baths. Spacious home, multiple eating areas, quiet street, and with a terrific host. Maldon is a charming small town and well-located to see the goldfields area. Only downside is there are only a couple of places in the town proper to dine out (Castlemaine is close). But a great place with all creature comforts."
