"Really nice location, plenty of parking available. Nice pub and accommodation. Staff are very attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was good quality, service was very good. Breakfast was very good. Room was good. The only slight negative, and I hate to add that it seems to be common with all hotels, is that the cups were very small for tea / coffee. I'm sure if we'd asked they would have had some decent sized mugs? Overall, you can't go wrong, clean, beautiful...

"The Lion Hotel is a warm, welcoming, cheap and cheerful hotel. Service at reception is excellent and staff are so friendly and helpful. If there was an award for a hotel with the creakiest stairs and floors this could win it! Interior is dated and needs a refresh. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Location was perfect for our weekend in Shrewsbury. Customer service is excellent. When we return to Shrewsbury for another weekend break, we'll definitely consider coming back to The Lion Hotel."

"The room was good except that it was very cold, the radiator was turned up high but the room never got warm. The duvet was only Summer weight so we had to use a towel and our coats to try and keep warm. Breakfast was continental and good, but a full English would have been preferred after a cold night! "Our stay was fabulous. The food is 12/10 We had our dog with us so we had to eat in the bar but it has a roaring fire and a lovely atmosphere and I’d argue this was the best seat in the house.
