Pack your golf clubs and swimsuit and take advantage of the sporting and natural attractions of Guadalmina. This exclusive beachfront community sits at the western border of Marbella, between the Guadalmina River and town of San Pedro de Alcántara. Luxurious villas line a network of twisting palm-lined streets, golden sands run along the coastline and golf courses make for pristine green spaces.
With access to several reputable courses, golfers are spoilt for choice in Guadalmina. Try your luck on the 18 holes of Guadalmina Sur and Guadalmina Norte, both part of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. Just a few minutes’ drive away is Atalaya Golf and Country Club and El Paraíso Golf Club. Visitors are welcome to play, and buggies and equipment are available to rent.
Relax while sitting beneath the year-round sunshine of the Costa del Sol and swim in mild Mediterranean waters at Guadalmina Beach. There’s plenty of space to lay down a towel or you can pay to use the sun loungers at the beach bars. Stroll along the seashore to Termas Romanas Las Bóvedas, which is the ruins of 3rd-century Roman baths. From here the coastline extends further via Linda Vista Beach and San Pedro de Alcántara Beach.
In the geographical center of the neighborhood is Guadalmina Mall. This is a good option for dining at Basque, Mediterranean, tapas and Thai restaurants, among others. It also has a supermarket, clothing and furniture stores.
Another interesting site to visit is the Capilla de la Inmaculada Concepción, a chapel notable for its circular roofs and a clocktower that resembles a lighthouse.
Reach Guadalmina by driving for about 20 minutes from central Marbella. Accommodations range from self-catering apartments and villas to high-end resort hotels. If you are in the mood to party then the vibrant nightlife zone of Puerto Banús is 10 minutes by car.
