Skaneateles farm. SPECIAL & extraordinary 19th cent. 2 floors barn space. Setting: Granary Pond Farm Reserve: 150 plus acres of mowed paths through meadows & forests. Renovated. You’ll love my country ambience, cathedral ceilings, antique wood paneling, vista views, the clawfoot bath tub and fireplace stove. Cabin in the Reserve available amenity also. Close to Skaneateles, the sparkling "Jewel of the Finger Lakes". Good for couples, solos, & business trippers. Splendid! AND SPECIAL !!
The space
Extraordinary is a 19th century building that was previously used as the farm’s grain storage barn. There are two floors and 4 porches - all open for guests to enjoy. This space is heated by electric baseboard heating and a cozy woodstove fireplace. There is also a window unit AC on the first floor for use during summer.
Guest access
Behind Granary Farm Pond across the creek are mowed trails that will take you through and around our entire 150 acre property. We encourage you to stroll, jog or walk your dog on those trails. There are exceptional birding and wildlife viewing opportunities to be had, and early mornings and evening are the best time to do so.
The center of our preserve and the main water feature is the man-made Granary Farm Pond. This pond is spring fed and its cool water is a great for a refreshing dip, even in the height of summer.

Lovely, sturdy bones, in need of refurbished kitchen and bathroom facilities!
I loved the look of it in the photos, and when I first arrived, I was even more charmed by what I encountered in person. However, once I started needing to use the facilities, especially the kitchen, I realized that they were in dire need of renovation/swapping out. The cottage can easily retain the vintage/rustic feel and be a much more pleasant nook with a new kitchen and bathroom. New sinks, countertops and other fixtures would be much more straightforward to keep clean and appealing. Also, there is an A/C leak problem that affects the cottage's downstairs apartment, though the unit itself cools very well.
