Beautiful Stay in St. Lucia

Great time at Marigot Bay
The apartment was modern, clean, and well furnished. The staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Not having the all inclusive status greatly diminish the options for dining. And I would not recommend driving at night to find a place to eat. Beautiful island, and driving around can be challenging but worth it. Overall a wonderful experience.

Amazing property
The pictures don't do this place justice. It's part of the Zoetry resort, which wasn't totally clear from the listing and is a huge benefit. The apartment is incredible--beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. It's also huge. Each bedroom has a desk, sitting area, and the bathrooms are enormous. We stayed there as a family of four and had more than enough space. The resort is pristine and the staff are incredibly helpful. It was also very quiet; we heard no other families or noises during the time we were in the apartment. It is definitely a luxury property and I cannot recommend enough.

True tranquility
Well traveled life but found true tranquility in this phenomenal property. Lush oriental gardens and paths to walk, to contemplate and appreciate life. Very well appointed and spacious accommodations for a family or couples to share. Set up for wireless but put it away and just become renewed and refreshed by the beauty of surroundings; watched 2 hummingbirds darting in and out amongst beautiful flowers and saw a soaring eagle. Very quiet and private, have own beach where you can readily find oysters and clams. Just a short walk from docks where float plane lands and slips for boats. Will return to this special place.

Beautiful property in stunning location
We had a wonderful holiday in Marigot Bay. The setting is stunning and having access to hotel facilities is great. Javid was a brilliant host, communicating regularly with us (and helping sort an extra apartment for my parents to join us) and his recommendations for excursions and restaurants were very helpful. River kayaking through the mangroves, zip wiring through the jungle and a boat day trip snorkelling were real highlights. Since the hotel has recently become all inclusive, unless you pay to go all inclusive (and rates are very high at the moment), you can’t access most of the hotel bars/restaurants (but can use pool, gym, beach) which limits you to eating in local restaurants. There are some nice local places but I hope the hotel will soon realise how much trade they’re losing (from guests and yacht owners) and allow you to pay to use the hotel eateries. Some of the hotel restaurants are still being refurbished and are not yet open. The views from the apartment are spectacular and the apartment itself is spacious, modern and clean. We loved Marigot Bay.

Great getaway!
The property is lovely. Javid was very kind and helpful, quickly responding to any questions. He provided a great list of restaurants and activities that was very useful and appreciated. We went on a full day snorkeling and land adventure with Andre at the dive shop Javid recommended, it was wonderful. We also went kayaking down the river (through the dive shop) which was amazing. The property has an incredibly nice trainer, Jay, who offers free yoga classes and a guided hike up the mountain. He was full of knowledge about the local vegetation and remedies for different ailments. The view from the top of the mountain was beautiful! I would definitely recommend stopping at the grocery store for breakfast and lunch items. Eating at the resort is very expensive.

Excellent first vacation after the Pandemic!
My husband and I traveled with another couple that we typically travel with that we hadn’t seen in 2 years due to the Pandemic and this trip was just what we needed! Communication from the start with Jay was perfect. Quick efficient and any questions I had beyond the very detailed pamphlet we received were quickly answered. This resort was beautiful, the room and amenities were spot on for accuracy. The only obstacles I had were my own doing. (I.e- my group are big coffee drinkers, and we couldn’t get the nespresso machine to taste to our liking but we honestly just got instant coffee at the grocery store and it worked fine! I would definitely recommend stopping at the grocery store on your way here from the airport. We had a 13 hour travel day and I did not want to do that but my husband insisted and I’m glad we did because it was a nice treat to have snacks, drinks and a cocktail once we got settled. ($40 to take a round trip drive to the grocery store if you go after the fact.) If traveling in the near future and resort activities are your thing- check ahead. For instance, I’m a fitness person and was excited to use the fitness center, take advantage of the complimentary classes and hike, and utilize a personal trainer. When we arrived all classes etc had been cancelled- so the website of the resort is not always updated with the most accurate info. (Good to note:: they were going to make calls to have someone come out to the resort to be a personal trainer for me specifically but I certainly didn’t want to be a bother.) I just like to state this because the resort really treats you like family and tries to go above and beyond for you regardless. ) Other reviewers have said it before - but Jay is super informative. It was nice to have his recommendations sent ahead of time so we could plan excursions ahead of time. We decided to take water taxis everywhere as the car might have been a bit cheaper it’s important to note that roads are very different in St. Lucia. We took a 20 min water taxi to a beach on our last day- our land taxi said that would have taken us an hour and we decided to take the water taxi to enjoy the beautiful weather. (Also good to note that the water taxis stay with you all day which was nice because they took us to multiple places and did lots of special things for us) Overall, I already miss St. Lucia and Marigot Bay! Until we meet again….

Marigot Bay Resort
This property at Marigot Bay is a great location, especially if you don’t want to vacation around big touristy crowds. Marigot Bay Resort is beautiful, this condo was very nice, perfect for our family of 5, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The owner supplied a thorough list of things to do and see as well as good suggestions for car rental and grocery purchases. Jay, thank you for a wonderful, beautiful and sunny place to stay while it is snowing and cold back home!

I would book this place again!
Great experience for my family (3 sisters and teenage nephew). 5- star resort that lives up to the description, if not better. Our 2 bdrms were connected by living area and kitchen. Each bedroom had its own balcony, entry point, and bathroom. The rooms are modern, up to date, very comfortable, and the beds have netting for the bugs. I highly recommend bringing bug spray, especially since this location is tucked away in a picturesque "jungle" with lush surroundings... you will need it. The pool was great and all facilities are well maintained. You don't have to go far for a beautiful view, simply step out onto your balcony. The Grill was our favorite place to eat. Favs on the menu: duck, filet mingeon, salmon, veal picatta, and mashed potatoes. Personally being from California (wine country), I feel that their wine list could be more extensive and better maintained at cooler temperatures. I think it would better compliment the quality cuisine at The Grill. The other restaurants on the Resort were just ok which was a little disappointing for a 5-star location. However, there are several different restaurants to choose from within the Bay, plus a market place which came in handy. The staff is super friendly and accommodating at all times!! Bravo! They made the check in and out process easy breezy! A personal assistant reached out to us prior to our arrival so that any desired arrangements/ accommodations/ excursions could be made during our stay. The owner was great too! Quick to answer questions prior to booking, thank you! We found the location to be great! Free ferry/water taxi service to get around the Bay to other restaurants or the private beach located 1 min away. We noticed that Marigot Bay was a destination location for many tour/excursion companies. Boats would either cruise the Bay to show off the gorgeous area or stop for lunch at a restaurant across the way. It was entertaining to watch them admire the beautiful resort and yachts docked out front. We chose to rent a car in Saint Lucia which worked out very well. I highly recommend this if you're comfortable driving: on the left side of the road, very curvy roads, sometimes very narrow roads, and unmaintained roads like the one that takes you down to Marigot Bay Resort. Valet parking is included which was very convenient and the staff was prompt to get your vehicle. I would hands down choose to book this property again and again.

We had an amazing week at the Marigot Bay Resort!!
This unit is everything that the listing describes. It is centrally located overlooking the pool. It was beautifully maintained and the staff at Marigot Bay Resort and Marina could not have been more helpful. Use the personal assistants -- they were very helpful with all our requests!! Jay's guidebook available with the listing was spot on with great suggestions about how to make the most of the stay at the resort but also with comments on places to go and activities to do. We spent several days just relaxing by the pools. There was always plenty of lounge chairs as well as service to provide beverages and food. Lunch at the pool bar was great. The unit is above the pool area on the second floor. There are stairs to get to the unit. The staff brought the bags to and from the unit - which would be the only real issue with the stairs. One suggestion in Jay's guide was to stop at Massey's grocery store on the way to the resort. If traveling from the US, you need to be flexible on choices in grocery shopping -- but everything was fine. We did eat breakfast at the restaurant one day and it was good but a bit pricey as Jay had noted. We bought food for breakfast and made it for ourselves other mornings. Coffee and tea were in the unit. There is a convenience store at the dock for quick needs which was useful and not too pricey. We ate dinner several nights on the property. The food was always great. For those of us used to quick paced meals and service, it just takes a little time to relax and enjoy the pace of meals in the Caribbean. In terms of Jay's recommendations for off property activities, we did take his advice and found everything in the guide to be very accurate. We rented a car and it was very convenient, though the roads in some areas are "interesting" (including the potholes on the road into the property). We went to Pigeon Island and spent much of the day at the beach. Rental of chairs/umbrellas and activities was fine. We went to Anse Chastanet. It was an interesting drive and the road into the resort was everything that was described. However, the beach and service/food were awesome. Not too expensive and well worth it. We went to Ladera Resort for drinks at sunset overlooking the Pitons and dinner following. Highly recommend sunset at the bar. We ate dinner one night at Coal Pot restaurant. Challenging to find, but the food was worth it. Overall it was great!! Wish there was more room for comments and suggestions.

Must stay here when visiting St Lucia!
My family and I traveled all over St Lucia during our time here on the island and there was no other place we would had rather stayed than Marigot Bay. I can see why it was voted best bay in the Caribbean. The resort is wonderful - everyone was so welcoming and friendly. They keep the property very well maintained. We had the best views of the bay from our room. I highly recommend this resort, we absolutely loved our time here and felt at home!

Excellent Resort and Apartment
Our stay at the Capella Resort in St Lucia was very nice. The listing description was accurate and the unit was clean and well maintained. The view from the apartment was marvelous. The Capella staff was all excellent, they treated us like royals. The 15-page guide the owner provided was very helpful. It helped tremendously on planning activities on the island. Overall, we had a very nice vacation in St Lucia.

Wonderful vacation !
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Capella resort in Marigot Bay! The resort itself is beautiful and this 2 bedroom unit was wonderful - comfortable king sized beds, contemporary decor, two large bathrooms. My son was thoroughly spoiled by having his own separate bedroom and bathroom, not to mention the daily housekeeping service! It was great to have a kitchen for making breakfast. As a suggestion, a non-stick frying pan (I never remember to buy cooking spray) and maybe a couple of packets of salt and pepper would be great additions. A nice touch was the refrigerator stocked with sodas which we made full use of for our evening cocktails on the balcony! We ate dinner at all of the nearby restaurants and liked Julietta's and the Cappella's own restaurant best. The staff at the resort was so friendly, from the first greeting at the airport where we were pleasantly surprised to be given a refreshing cool towel, to our last moment checking out. In fact, we found most of the people we encountered on St Lucia to be very friendly, which we certainly appreciated. Marigot Bay was a good location for exploring the island, if you don't mind driving. We explored both North to Pigeon Bay and South to the Pitons and found the roads to be in generally good condition (although very curvy as you might expect) We made good use of the guide Jay provided, too. All in all, a great escape from the cold March weather !

Beautiful Resort, Fantastic Apartment! Highly recommeded for a relaxing vacation!
My wife and I spent 8 days at the resort in March 2018 and had a wonderful time. The Capella Resort is a beautiful property overlooking Marigot Bay and the resort-managed marina. The Capella staff was welcoming and responsive, and tended to all of our requests. Javid, the owner, is very responsive and provided an excellent summary of how to best enjoy your stay and explore St. Lucia. All in all, the apartment is very spacious and provides privacy to a family or two couples. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning for coffee, or in the evening for a glass of wine, overlooking the pool, the bay, and the vessels in the marina. We found the setting unique, in that we normally stay on the beach in the Caribbean. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, and the housekeeping provided some of the best service that we have experienced. One important point, the resort does an outstanding job of controlling mosquitoes and pests; we were bug free during our time in the resort. We experienced all of the four restaurants at the resort. We enjoyed several dinners at the Rum Cave, breakfast and drinks at sunset at the Hurricane Hole. The food for lunch at the Pool Bar was very good. We found the Grill Room to be a nice setting, but was more expensive and less satisfying than the other three. Overall, meals at the resort and the island were expensive, but comparable to other high-end Caribbean destinations. Close to the resort, we tried Chateau Mygo which was good for breakfast and pizza take out. We really enjoyed Julietta’s, which overlooks the bay from the top of the hill. Our favorite restaurants were outside of the resort, The Coal Pot and the Pink Plantation, which have the same owner. Both are located in beautiful and picturesque settings, with similar menus. We arranged several private tours independent of the resort, a boat tour to the Pitons and various beaches and a sunset sail, and a tour of the Volcano and Botanical Gardens. There is a small beach across the bay, but while at Marigot Bay, we opted for the resort pool, which is marvelous, tranquil, and with a swim-up bar. We had a rental car delivered to the hotel, and would recommend using transportation on arrival. We found the beaches at Pidgeon Island/Rodney Bay to be the nicest. One of our favorite things about St. Lucia were the people, as the hotel staff, locals and fellow guests were all very friendly. A very peaceful and interesting place.

Great unit, excellent resort
Renting this unit from Javid was a pleasure. He is responsive and helpful. The staff at the resort are great. Do take advantage of the wonderful Personal Assistant service. They assisted us with dinner reservations and other services. We booked two tours through Dive Fair Helen, the company Javid recommended. Andre is the owner, he personally toured the four of us on the land portion of our tour. He was interesting and unhurried. We went sea and river kayaking one day and snorkelling and land tour another day. The Indian restaurant next door, Marsala Bay, is outstanding. Truly world class Indian. The Grill restaurant on site is great. Service is excellent, food is good. We also enjoyed the Hurricane Hole. We rented a car and drove to Dasheene at Ladera for lunch, a must for the views of the Pitons and the sea. Then down to the beach at Sugar Beach. The drive there reminded me of the drive to Hana in Maui but on the left side of the road, a bit challenging, but a spectacular drive. We stayed 10 nights and the apartment was very comfortable for a family of four with two grown teenagers. All in all a very positive and enjoyable experience except the lack of beach at the resort (a quick two minute ferry ride to a small beach), and the island is a bit pricey (no more than Barbados, etc.) would be my only criticisms. We found the staff at the resort and all St. Lucian’s to be genuinely warm and friendly people. We will be back in St. Lucia soon.

Capella Resort Apartment great option...
We arrived on a Sunday to the Capella Marigot Bay Resort. This apartment/condo gives you a great mix of services. If you like having the extra space for your family, but enjoy the convenience of daily hotel services this is the spot for you. The property is represented well on the VRBO site. It is very clean and well maintained. You will enjoy overlooking the pool and Marigot Bay Marina. There are restaraunts on property and across the Bay. We tried them all and the food was very good. If you are looking for a "beach" this is not the best location. The property does not have a beach, and the little area across the bay really isn't a beach but a small peninsula with beach chairs. St. Lucia is not known for its beaches as it is a volcano. It is a very interesting island with wonderful natural spots to explore. The pool is wonderful and the poolside staff and sushi bar get a 5 star rating as well. We enjoyed a kayak river trip, although there was quite a bit of confusion with the arrangements with Dive Fair Helen. We enjoyed Juliette's for dinner, which is up the hill from the resort and overlooks the bay from an elevated view. Bug spray is a must, the resort does supply a bottle in your room. A great plus is that there are convenient charging stations for 110v (American powered electonics)in each room. If you have a multi-port charging block...bring it along for charging multiple phones/iPads/computer. We usually cook in at least 1-2 nights while on vacation, but the grocery shopping is not great. Mostly frozen meats/seafood. The kitchen is adequate to prepare breakfasts and dinner. You may need a few utensils, but the resort is very helpful to provide you with anything you may need. I brought my own spices, cereal, snack bars for a start. Do take advantage of the wonderful Personal Assistant service. They did assist us with dinner reservations and other services. The resort works with a different Dive Company than what the owner recommended. We went on a great zip line adventure, TreeTop Adventure Park. They transportation that will pick you up at the Capella front desk and return you after your adventure. This is the one near Dennery. There is not much activity for teens. We had great family time but it is a quiet place for good R&R. We can recommend the Capella Marigot Bay apartment. Javid was very responsive with any question and the resort handled everything once we arrived.

Fantastic location
Our family stayed here for a week recently and had a great time in St Lucia. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment related to this property and i can say its very luxurious and well appointed. The hotel staff treated us very well and we made good use of the hotel pool and swim up bar. Marigot Bay is in a fantastic location. Snorkeling and canoeing and lunch at Ladera resort where highlights of our trip

Book it, you won't regret it
The accommodations are perfect for 2 couples and we stayed 10 nights. The master suites are very spacious and very well appointed, actually I would say perfect. The bed was awesome and the older we get this plays an integral role in our travels. The air-conditioning worked great. Having maid service is a wonderful touch and they were very through. The proximity to the pool is perfect and makes it easy to run back to the room for incidentals such as wine and snacks. There was a great view to watch the yachts and boats in the marina. We felt very safe and all the staff was so kind and welcoming, I don't know how every staff remembered our names, this boggles my mind. We had a private chef one evening and the food was fantastic and entertaining and we got to keep the leftovers. We did the rum tasting at the resort, which is a must, so entertaining and educational. We took advantage of the complementary Yoga and Pilates, we learned so much from the classes. We rented a car and went to Ti Kaye once and Sugar Beach twice and for snorkeling which was awesome. The roads are less than desirable, but we managed. I would highly recommend renting from Javid, he was very attentive with answering any questions we had prior to booking and thereafter. I hope I get a chance to meet you some day.

Truly paradise
We had a perfect stay at the Capella. Staff was so helpful and hospitable. The property was clean, our room was more than what we had expected. Thank you Javid for your quick response to all our questions and for excellent customer service. I highly recommend staying at the Capella and staying at Javids

Contemporary accommodations in a great location!
We had a fantastic time in St. Lucia and at the Capella Marigot Bay Resort. The apartment was spacious and in good order. Our personal assistant, Sasha, took excellent care of us during our stay and surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco upon our arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed the tours arranged by the resort and access to the many restaurants in the bay. (Julietta's and the Rainforest Hideaway were among our favorites. We also enjoyed lunches at Ladera and Sugar Beach, which is accessible by car.) The location was convenient to many local attractions and I would suggest renting a vehicle, which can be arranged through the resort, to see many of the sites on the island. (Although driving is not for the faint of heart.) We would highly recommend St. Lucia and the Capella Resort as a must see destination.
