This no-frills motel has incredible views and is well located. We loved the row Adirondack chairs facing the lake and the sweet chairs outside our room. The management knows what the main selling point of the Sunset is. The breakfast was decent: we took our yogurts and danishes and went on a great hike. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Old fashioned yes, clean yes, fancy no but just a nice quaint relaxing quiet place. Chairs outside along the walls of Lake Superior. Actually had a clear view of the Northern lights that night we stayed.

The room was spacious and clean. Furniture is outdated, but sturdy. The beds were comfortable. The owner is so pleasant and helpful with recommendations. It was a perfect stop for an overnight visit to the area and you can't beat the view!

Not the fault of the Motel, it we booked it for its location. However, the road was closed meaning we had to drive 15 minutes around the town to get 1/2 mile away. Air conditioner too small for the room and it never cooled down. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful!

Positives: 1) Friendly Staff 2) Clean 3) Nice view of the bay 4) Good price for the location. Negatives: 1) The intermittent sound of flushing water coming from the floor vents woke us up repeatedly throughout the night. 2) The room was stuffy as the air conditioning unit struggled to compensate for the uncontrollable heat that was blowing out of the floor vents in July. 3) My husband and I suffered from back pain for days due to the hard bed. 4) Loud neighbors woke us up in the middle of the night and early morning. This property has potential, but I would not book here again due to the poor sleep quality.
