We had a great stay at this lovely bed and breakfast.
Our room was very comfortable and well equipped.
A nice selection of tea and coffee.
The bathroom was clean and functional with complimentary shower gel and shampoo.
The breakfast is absolutely fantastic with a great choice of many items all freshly prepared and cooked.
A special thanks to the proprietor who made our stay very enjoyable she is so friendly and helpful.
We would definitely stay again if in the area.
Cedar House is a really lovely place to stay. The room was really cosy and we had a balcony overlooking the river with table and chairs and the bed was very comfortable. The room was serviced daily and it was really nice to have bottles of water and biscuits every day. we culd order our breakfast the night before and it was always very fresh and plentiful. We can highly recommend a stay here.
What can I say this is never a 4 star guest house. The bed was terrible the pillows were dirty. The shower didn’t work properly. The room was cold and they were not ready for us when we turned up.
Excellent breakfast. Lots of choice. Comfortable room and bed and modern en-suite. Plenty of tea, coffee and milks with biscuits and chocolate!
Stand by chair for coffee mug would have been useful as would bulb for reading by in bedside lamp. Stairs fairly steep.
Would recommend and book again if in area.
Lovely B&B close to Centre, bars, & restaurants.
The host was friendly who could not do enough for you and her breakfast was delicious.
Would definitely stay again.
Really friendly welcome. Property dated but Absolutely spotlessly clean . Breakfast was superb and the location couldnt have been better, just a few hundred metres from the main street, shops bars and eateries
Great B&B which is conveniently located in Matlock near to numerous shops, cafes and restaurants in the town centre. The owner is very welcoming and helpful to any needs or requests. Parking is available right outside although the spaces are sometimes tight as Cedar House is situated next door to a neighbouring B&B and other private properties. My single room was small but very well equipped with en-suite facilities. Bottled water and tea & coffee was replenished daily with a chocolate bar also left which was a really nice touch. Breakfast was great with a wide range of choice including cereals, cooked options/full English, yoghurts and fruit. If you’re wanting to stay in Derbyshire in close proximity to the Peak District National Park and attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and towns such as Bakewell then Cedar House is a great option at an extremely affordable place. Certainly recommended and I’d happily stay here again.
