Mai Tai is a bright airy living space with vaulted ceilings that give your holiday home a spacious feel.
The kitchen, with granite counter tops has every gadget and appliance you will need. Fridge, dishwasher, range, and garbage disposal are included. The kitchen alcove houses a stacking washer and dryer.
Blender, food processor, rice cooker, many Pyrex and corning ware dishes are also provided.
The larder is well stocked with herbs and spices, oils, and vinegar.
Paper towel are provided along with cleaning supplies.
There is plenty of comfy seating in the spacious open living area which has all the modern technology you would expect in a superior yet affordable vacation rental. All rooms have open beamed vaulted ceilings.
The living space opens to the large yet private covered Lanai that is furnished with a teak dinning set seating 6 and 2 steamer loungers with comfy cushions.
The covered lanai allows you to enjoy being outside even during a passing shower. Also, there is a distant view of 2 mile long Papohaku Beach.
The lanai is also accessed from the master bedroom which has a very comfortable King Bed, and an en suite with double sinks set in granite counter tops, toilet, bath and shower.
During the 2015 remodeling the master bedroom was separated and insulated from the living area giving you complete privacy and absolute sound proofing. This is the only home in Ka Nani Kai in which the master bedroom is totally private and not open to the living areas and loft bedroom.
The second bedroom has a Queen bed and adjacent bathroom with toilet, sink, shower, and granite counter top .
The third sleeping area is a loft, accessed via the spiral staircase from the living area. It has two single beds and is great for older children.
All the rooms are cooled by commercial quality super cooling ceiling fans and the trade winds.
Bathroom and pool towels are provided.
2 Boogie boards available on request.
Cooler bag, 4 beach chairs, and roller board to get your " stuff " to the beach.
2 tennis rackets.
MaiTai is located off the main road close to the pool and spa tub with the best tennis courts on the island .
You can park right outside MaiTai.
Garbage and recycle are close by .
The community BBQ is by the pool .
The pool and grounds are immaculately maintained by the ground crew. They, the office staff, and manager are very friendly , helpful, and welcoming . MaiTai is surrounded by swaying palms, lime trees, and beautiful all season flowering Bougainvillea.
Molokai is known as “ The Friendly Isle". It has maintained the true Hawaiian way of life . You will not find all the trappings of tourism that many of the other islands offer.
Molokai is the path less traveled. Slow down and enjoy the journey .
The local coast line is stunning, and includes the longest 2 mile beach in Hawaii and smaller deserted sandy West side coves in addition to the Kalaupapa Peninsula which boasts the tallest sea cliffs in the world .
Tours can be arranged, by foot, air, or mule to visit what once was a hospital where Father Damien tended to those that suffered from Hansen's disease.
Although the local golf course is no longer operational it does provide wonderful walking trails which you will share with the wild turkey and deer .
Not to worry if you are a golfer, the Ironwood 9 hole course is a short drive away .
Whale watching is from January through March. An amazing sight that you will never tire of .
You will also see the endangered Monk Seals that come up on to the nearby beach to rest .
Watch the surfers or even join them !
MaiTai is at the West end of the island . There is a convenience store in Kaluakoi,, a short walk away. It is worth visiting. You will be surprised by some of the items they carry and may save you a 10 minute drive to Maunaloa where there is a larger grocery store. The main shopping center, Kaunakakai, is 30 minutes away.
If you are arriving on a Sunday, please note grocery stores are closed at 12 noon, although the small store at Kaluakoi is open until 5pm.
On your way to or from Kaunakakai stop at Kumu Farm for local produce, much of which is organic, and their famous pesto.
Take a short detour to Coffees of Hawaii. Includes a gift shop, tours, and delicious coffee. You may be lucky enough to catch the local ukulele jam session.
You are also very close to the Macadamia Nut Farm. So grab some locally grown and roasted nuts to enjoy with your evening refreshment on the lanai .
The East End and Halawa Valley offers spectacular scenery, hiking, diving, and snorkeling. Tours can be arranged.
