Turtle Bottom luxury beachside villa

Turtle Bottom is an architect designed beachside villa with light, comfortable, modern, interiors on the beautiful south coast of Barbados. We rented through Home Away for five years prior to Covid and were consistently rated 5 stars. Turtle Bottom is now available again, it is ideally positioned in the centre of a white sand beach, steps away from the water, which is just through the gate in the white picket fence. The brick paved shared garden is fully enclosed, so it's perfect for children. Most of our guests say the photos can't convey the ambience and many don't even want to leave the house to explore our beautiful island, however there is so much to do. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive or bus ride away. Surfer's Cafe is a few minutes walk, opposite a large supermarket, gas station, pharmacy, and everything else that Oistins has to offer, is just beyond that.
We offer complimentary airport transfers.
The villa is divided into two and our section comprises the entire ground floor, the garden is shared but rarely used by upstairs since both levels have a full length veranda, with sitting and dining areas.
The master bedroom is very spacious, and double doors open onto the veranda, so there's a view of the sea from the king-size bed ! It has an ensuite bathroom, and walk-in closet.
Bedroom 2 also has double doors to the garden, a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom as well as plenty of closets.
Bedroom 3 has trundle style twin beds which can be pushed together for a king-size or separated and the trundles pulled out to give four single beds, great for slumber parties. Next to it is the primary family bathroom with a walk-in shower and plenty of storage.
All the bedrooms are air-conditioned with ceiling fans.
The living room has a smart TV and comfortable seating and opens completely onto the veranda. It is open plan with the well appointed kitchen and long freestanding breakfast bar. The kitchen is very well equipped.
There is a washing machine and gas dryer in a laundry cupboard, which is in this open plan area.

TURTLEbottom villa has amazing and breathtaking views and easy access to ocean and many near by restaurants.The Villa is beautifully kept and decorated with beach like items and with many amenities.David has been very accommodating and accessible throughout our stay,Driver Sean has been very helpful with airport transfer and willing to ride us to local supermarket.Highly recommend vacation spot and definitely will return,best vacation ever!!!

Simply perfect
At first I was litte bit worried about the position next to the road, but after arrival you realise you live on the other side of the house, where you can hear only the waves. It is little paradise, where you forget about everything and enjoy only your holiday. Bus stop next to the house, shopping close by, perfect comunication with David. We will be back for sure👍

Turtle Bottom
We came in late thanks to American Airlines. We were all tired and hungry after 24 hours of travel, and Sean was very accommodating (Sean works with David as a driver). The property was right by the bus stop and being across the street from the Golden Sands meant getting a taxi was easy! You could get food to go from the Golden Sands and they have a great karaoke night (Kids welcome). Turtle Bottom was not only close to many things it was easy to get in and out of, and the store is a 10-minute walk up the street. We will be back in Barbados next year and with the fun we had we will look to stay here again! Cheers!

Lovely beachfront property with beautiful view!
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at Turtle Bottom. This is a well kept property that is fully stocked with everything that you could possibly need. David was very quick to respond to any questions we had and Sean our driver was a wealth of information. I cannot say enough about the location of this villa....it was perfect. A few minute walk to Oistins, bus stop right our front of the house for a 5 min bus ride to Saint Lawrence Gap for a plethora of restaurants/bars, and the view, oh my that view! Spent much of our time sitting on the outdoor patio eating. chatting, reading, watching for turtles and listening to the waves. Spectacular vacation. We would love to come back. Thank you!

Fantastic holiday spoiled
Turtle bottom is indeed a great property although two of the bathrooms could do with the showers attending to, we all shared use of the master shower!! However I now struggle to leave positive feedback due to the offhand attitude of the owner!

This is the best property in the oistins area!
Exactly as shown and the perfect vacation rental for a family or small group. Beautiful and modern, this well decorated home is literally a walk through the garden to get to the beach. The bus stop at the front door is amazing! For $1USD you can go almost anywhere on the island. Convenient to get to the Oistins fish fry or for groceries, to the Gap, Bridgetown, west coast beaches.. Easy to walk to Oistins as well, for groceries or to go the surfers cafe for lunch. Can’t say enough about how awesome this rental was!!

Perfect Home for our family!
We spent 10 days in Barbados and loved Turtlebottom! The house is beautifully furnished, clean, and appointed with everything you need for a great vacation. The beach is right there and is nearly private! The owners, the David and Sam, go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time ever. Pay attention to their recommendations...they know the island so well. Champers and The Tides were our favorite restaurants but there were so many places that were great! We rented a car and saw most of the island. We visited friends in other rental homes and saw nothing near as nice as Turtlebottom. Looking forward to coming back someday!

Stunning place to stay right on the beach and a wonderful location!
Turtlebottom is absolutely gorgeous!!! It had everything we needed. The three bathrooms and three bedrooms provided plenty of room for our family of five. The kitchen was well equipped and with it being within walking distance to the Oistins fish market, it was wonderful to be able to buy fresh fish and grill it ourselves. The location is an easy walk to a grocery store and the bus stop is right out front! The beach is just a couple of steps away and is simply beautiful! It was so calming to listen to the waves as we fell asleep at night. We’ll be back for sure!!!

Perfect
We travelled with a group of friends, 3 couples and so pleased with this beautiful villa. Each morning greeted by the beautiful ocean and beach. along with a beautiful covered deck with dining table. We spent most of our days and evenings on the covered deck, having our meals, listening to music and conversation. The sound of the ocean putting us to sleep. THe villa has all the amenities for cooking and a short walk to the local grocery stores for anything you need. We were three adults and the place was so comfortable yet large enough to find quiet time on your own to read and or take a nap. Went to Oistins Friday night for Fish Fry which is a short bus ride away. So many great places to eat. Also recommend taking a day to tour around the island to change it up. This was our third time in Barbados as a group of couples and it just keeps getting better! Thank you David for your beautiful place to make it Perfect!

Fantastic location, directly on the beach.
Turtlebottom is the perfect place to land for your vacation. The house is located directly on the beach. Ten steps to the water. You can jump into the ocean & then sun on the large patio. When you need a break from the sun you can move to the covered patio to cool off. There’s an outdoor shower which always feels so good after a swim. The house itself is amazing. Perfectly decorated, modern and well stocked. The kitchen has every utensil you need. There are beach towels & beach toys (floats, snorkeling gear, cooler); a Weber grill; lots of board & card games; books; washer/dryer; lounge chairs for sunning; a large table on the patio for outdoor dining. Large sliders that fold open accordion style so that the entire house is open to the outdoors. The beds are very comfortable. Lots of pillows which is always a plus. The location of the house is great. A short walk to Massy’s (grocery store), Surfers Cafe, Oistins fish market & fish fry (an experience on Friday night). There’s a bus stop in front of the house where you can pick up a shuttle (inexpensive) or catch a cab. Cabs are abundant & easy to find. If you’re walking cabbies will stop to ask if you need a ride. Same with the shuttle. The house is a 5 minute drive ($7.50/US cab ride) from St. Lawrence Gap where there are lots of great restaurants & bars. My family & I have traveled extensively and we always rent from HomeAway. We all have the ability to be, let’s say, critical of our accommodations, however when it comes to Turtlebottom there wasn’t a negative to be said. If you’re lucky to be able to book Turtlebottom do so without hesitation. You will in no way regret your decision as you sit on the patio, gazing at the ocean feeling relaxed, calm, tranquil. Have a wonderful vacation. ☀️☀️

10 Fantastic Nights in Barbados
Anyone looking at this property should know that it’s exactly as the pictures show with no surprises. The house is very well equipped with everything you need to make some fantastic meals should you choose. Massy Grocery Store is about a 12 minute walk away and will have everything you need. Rum is very cheap but if you are a Vodka or Gin drinker get a bottle of each at duty free as they are crazy crazy expensive. Our Group of 4 that turned into a group of 6 for 5 nights when our good friends surprised us with the help of owners David and Sam. Thanks to David, Sam and Sean their driver for making that such a fantastic surprise that we will talk about for many years to come. Our group spent most mornings and evening on the veranda having drinks, listening to music and playing cards only steps away from the ocean. Late morning and early afternoons were spent on the beach that was not crowded at all so it was fantastic. Turtles could be seen every morning and we had some surprise turtle visits during the day as well. I already miss hearing the waves all day and night long. We took in Oistin’s Fish Friday night(15 minute walk) and it was very good and very busy so get there early(Maybe 5:30) to get a good seat. Our only disappointment was that there was no live music there. If you want to buy fresh fish to cook at Turtlebottom Oistin’s is the place every day. We grilled King Fish and it was so tasty. We also took in the Jolly Roger Pirate Ship, Mount Gay Tour and a Catamaran Evening Cruise with Cool Runnings that was a highlight of the trip for sure. The bus is right out the door that will take you to the St Lawrence Gap or into Bridgetown for $1 US and we did both. So many great restaurants in the gap to choose from. In summary the house was everything we dreamed it would be and the location outstanding. David and Sam were fantastic and great at returning emails and answering our/your many questions. Sean who greets you at the airport will be happy to stop at the grocery store before taking your to Turtlebottom. Sean is a gem who has grown up in Barbados and has a wealth of information. Heaven on Earth
Beautiful place exactly like the pictures show. Right on the beautiful beach. We were 7 ladies and with the 3 bathrooms that was not a problem. The location is perfect! No need for car. The local beep beeps come right in front of house and you can ride anywhere for $1usd or $2 their currency. There is a market close by in Oistins where you can get food and booze. Our beach was amazing. A couple of locals came by to sell things but were friendly and not aggressive. All the locals we met were friendly and accommodating! Would definitely go back😎

Probably one of the nicest vacation rentals we have stayed in!
Beautiful home right on a fabulous sand beach. Very well maintained and great location close to Oistens ( easy walk to the fish fry, fresh fish market and grocery store. Easy access to bus and route taxi which will take you just about anywhere on the island for 2 Barbados dollars. Excellent property highly recommended.

Fantastic!!!
We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids and Turtlebottom was perfect for us. The bedrooms are large and there was space for everyone. We spent most of our time outside on the very large deck and on the beautiful beach. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had everything we needed. There was even a blender! The villa was very clean and all furnishings and decor were top notch. There were even boogie boards and floats available for us to use and a safe too.. There were also board games, books and magazines, but we didn't discover these until our last day. We were hesitant in booking this villa because the owner did not accept credit cards for payment, but after speaking to him, I sent my payments by cheque and was so happy to see Shaun at the airport when we arrived. From the airport, Shaun dropped the kids and Dads off at the villa and took the Moms to the grocery store to stock up for the week. The large grocery store was less than a 10 minute walk and offered a shuttle back to the villa with your groceries. There is a good selection of restaurant options within walking distance as well. We did not need to rent a car and found the bus stop right outside was just perfect and we used the buses for the entire week. We have rented many vacation villas in Canada and the US and this was one of the very best we have stayed in. We all had a great vacation and the kids are already asking when we can return to Turtlebottom. It was our first time in Barbados, and we all fell in love with the island and can't wait to go back.

Lovely modern home located directly on a quiet beach. Easy access to amenities and St. Lawrence Gap.
The house is conveniently located near Oistins. It is very well laid out with an excellent floor plan that provides a spacious central dining area, well appointed kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. Situated directly on the beach, the home includes a large private patio deck that is well landscaped. The deck provides a comfortable seating area to enjoy the lovely sunsets. The ample patio furniture is clean and modern. It is very pleasant to spend the entire day on the deck with periodic forays onto the beach for a refreshing swim and stroll. Conveniently located outside the home is a bus stop to facilitate easy access to Bridgetown, The Gap, and other points of interest. A ten minute walk brings you to a shopping area for groceries and other amenities. The Oistins fish market is also close at hand for a good selection of fresh fish which can readily be cooked on the barbecue provided by the owners on the patio deck. The owners are very pleasant and respond immediately to questions or maintenance issues that arise. All said, this is indeed a very good property and location for a thoroughly enjoyable vacation. Highly recommended.

Beautiful home with breathtaking views
Our family and friends just came back from Turtlebottom and we already want to plan our next trip! David was so easy to work with and made our arrival smoothe! The pictures don't do the house justice. We were more than pleased with the cleanliness and layout of the home, although most of our time was spent outdoors. The patio is a great size for outdoor dining and relaxing and the beach is steps away. The view was truly incredible! We had a wonderful vacation and our accommodations at Turtlebottom exceeded our expectations!

The Perfect Villa for our Vacation
Thank you David and Sam for the wonderful hospitality we received at your villa. The property far exceeded our expectations and was so well appointed from the well stocked kitchen to the large open layout through to the large selection of toys to play with in the sea and the ice machine for the perfect evening beverage. The villa is located conveniently close to Oistens where there is a supermarket, fresh fish market and the popular Friday evening fish fry. St Lawrence Gap is a close bus or taxi ride away where there are many restaurants and resorts. Many thanks to Sean for helping with our transportation and touring needs. We would have been lost (literally) without him. Best of all is the beach right outside the door. Just open the white picket gate and step onto the beach, swim with the turtles (we saw 2-3 every morning) or sit on the covered patio and watch the sunset over the waves. A true vacation in paradise!
Thank you David and Sam for making our first trip to Barbados a perfect one! We can't wait to visit again!! The photos online do not do this view justice - it's breathtaking and you just can't embrace it all until you've walked onto the patio for the first time. Everything was spotless, well maintained and very well stocked (including a starter supply of grocery items). David has EXCELLENT response time and very helpful with suggestions and recommendations for your stay. If our path ever takes us back to Barbados, we will definitely be back in touch!

Beautiful Holiday.
Turtle Bottom is absolutely wonderful! The house is perfectly located on the Maxwell coast just 10 minutes from Oistins. Perfect vacation!
Thank you David and Sam for providing such a perfect vacation destination! We had the best week at Turtle Bottom and can't wait to go back again. The location was perfect for us--off the beaten path but close to anything that we wanted. The house was better than we could have imagined and we enjoyed everything about it. It was so nice to open all of the windows and doors and have the sea breeze and sound of the waves throughout the house. The views were spectacular. We saw lots of turtles and spent a lot of time watching the hummingbirds on the patio. We couldn't have asked for a better place for our vacation! Marianne

Paradise!
Turtle Bottom is perfect in every way. The house is perfectly laid out and beautifully decorated, it is a fabulous home with everything you might need (and more) readily available. The pictures do not do it justice. The beach is literally on your doorstep and we even saw turtles while we were swimming. You are within walking distance of shops and restaurants but the bus stop in front of the house is great for trips into Bridgetown. The local buses are an experience not to be missed! This was our first visit to Barbados and we are planning a return trip to Turtle Bottom next winter.

Perfect in every way
turtle bottom is the best holiday rental we have ever had in Barbados after 30 something visits in the last 20 years. the internal layout is superb, clean lines and open plan with every modern convenience you could wish for. the master bedroom is so spacious and the view is incredible. the ocean is just steps away and the beach is largely unoccupied so the desert island feeling really adds to total relaxation in paradise feeling. we love this house and have already booked again, there is everything you need near by and lots of restaurants within a 10 minute car ride and also some local ones within walking distance. cant thank david and sam enough, and look forward to our next visit

Best vacation rental ever!
We stayed at Turtle Bottom in March 2014 (yes, it really did take that long for me to write my review). My husband and I stayed with our one year old and his 17 year old, and the house was perfect for us. We all had space to relax on our own, but the many common areas made it easy to spend family time together. And the house...it exceeded every single expectation we had. The entire experience did. From the pick-up at the airport, to the stop on the way to the house for groceries, to the location, to the beach...and yes, back to the beautiful house. It was spotless, had everything we could have ever wanted, and had more room than we needed. The pictures don't do it justice. We can't decide what was better - the big table out on the covered patio overlooking the ocean where we ate all our meals, the fact we simply had to take one step off the deck (through a gate we could lock) to feel the sand at our feet, of the location (we could walk to a big grocery store, the fish market and restaurants). I think it's safe to say it was as close to perfect as we could hope to find. We have been talking about coming back since we left...and will definitely find a time to return. Thank you David for all your help in planning a spectacular week.
