Great Cabin
We had a very enjoyable stay at Beth's Lakeside cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. In the mornings we hiked and in the afternoons we hung out by the water. The deck was perfect for chilling out in the shade. We would love to stay there again in the future.

Rustic Cabin
Nice, on the water, clean but old, had mice and trap bait but mice got in our food so we threw it away, King bed was good. Probably would not stay again.

Great location but very old cabin
Beautiful location on lake. Cabin desperately needs updating. Told to bring own water. Do not drink tap water. Stairs are extremely steep and dangerous. Bad smell/musty smell in cabin. Decor is run down, couches lumpy, everything is old and not in a good way…

Cozy Lakeside Cabin
It’s a cozy, old cabin directly on the lake, with an amazing view. The inside is old and rustic, with uncomfortable, outdated furniture, but the location makes up for all of it. The main source of heat is a wood-burning stove l, but no wood or matches are provided, so keep that in mind. There are a couple wall heaters (one that doesn’t work), and space heaters are provided instead. The driveway to get in is very steep and chains are definitely needed in the winter. It’s a quick 10-minute drive to town. Overall, as long as you’re not expecting luxury amenities, it’s a great place to stay.

A true McCall cabin experience
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the price and if you're looking for a "cabin" experience, this is a great rental on Payette Lake. Great dock for boats and nice deck. The house is a little dark and chilly. Be sure to pick up bottled water before you check in as you can't drink the cabin water. Our guests reported that the double bed upstairs is very uncomfortable. Master bed was quite comfortable. I recommend getting rid of the plastic flowers outside as they really deter from the outdoor aesthetics. Also have some concern about all the dead trees in front of the deck. Seems like they would be a real fire hazard if a spark should fly from the chimney or BBQ. While the property is not luxurious, it certainly is adequate and functional. Overall, we had a terrific week.

Beth’s Lakeside Cabin Retreat and Recharge
If you are looking for modern this is not the place for you! This is a rustic old style cabin with a few antiques, fireplace if you need heat and no dishwasher and we absolutely loved it. It had a nice deck and dock and that is where we spent most of our time. The stairs to the upstairs are very steep and if you have a balance problem upstairs would not be the place to sleep but there is one bed downstairs. Back to nature is just what we needed.

A slice of heaven.
We totally enjoyed this quiet old school cabin. Had two of the best SUP paddles right from our beach, one ten miles. So quiet at night, easy 3? mile drive to town or ponderosa park where we had a great moderate mtn bike ride.

Memories
LOVE "Beth's cabin, knew her personally, was a McCall neighbor until she left. However, LATE check in and EARLY check out are a huge "negative," dirty/un-swept deck as well as the dirty pots 'n pans we found. Decided not to "cook/eat in" because of the unclean utensils. Otherwise, our stay was full of memories of Beth. Left a framed picture for Scotts' daughter on the mantel. Thank you. Rick and Pat Skelly formally of McCall, Idaho.

Beth’s Cabin and the Beauty of Payette Lake’s east
This well-furnished cabin has a fabulous view of the east portion of Payette Lake from its deck and from inside the living dining area through windows across the back. The stairs down to the dock lead past a large Ponderosa Pine to a perfect sandy beach shallow enough for play. There is no internet, but we solved the problem with internet hotspots using our phones. It was a Generally quiet on this part of the lake. We would love to stay here again.

It is what it is. Watch out for the stairs!
It’s an old, rustic, reasonably priced cabin on the lake. If you like that sort of thing, you’ll enjoy it. We loved it and enjoyed our stay. The only bad thing about it is the stairs—they are a death trap and it’s only a matter of time until someone gets seriously hurt on them. They need to be rebuilt. And the water, even when using the water filter, tastes terrible, so be sure to bring your own bottled water. Otherwise we had a great time!

Great cabin!
Loved this cabin! Brought me back to my childhood and memories of my grandparent's cabin....Wonderful dock and deck, original charming livingroom, dining and kitchen, great upstairs sleeping areas for the kids, clean bathrooms! Very relaxing!

Great place on the lake. The stairs to the dock were easy to navigate, but may be difficult for someone who has trouble walking. The cabin isn't luxurious, but as you can see from the listing, it is as described. It's constantly shaded and stays cool even on a hot day. The king mattress could stand to be replaced. Also, it could use a little more cleaning in the corners and under the sofas. All in all, its a fun place to stay.

Nice location, but...
The pros: The dock is great, view is somewhat obstructed, but nice. We had great weather. I want to preface this by saying I know this is an older cabin, and I wasn't expecting anything special, but after spending over a grand for 3 nights, I feel the need to let prospective renters know what they are in for. I don't feel that previous reviews prepared me adequately. The cons: The SMELL is unbearable. Really and truly. Horrible. The bed in the master bedroom needs to be replaced (it has 2 body impressions with a hump in the middle). (***We left a day early because of these 2 things. I had to wash absolutely everything when we got home because of the smell.) Fridge and freezer smell. It is very dark and depressing inside. The patio has 3 plastic Adirondack chairs that are super flimsy, broken, and can't hold more than 100 lb. Some garbage cans still had garbage in them when we got there. Big outside garbage can was overflowing. Sink was full of recyclables. There was dust and cobwebs on the artificial flowers and greenery, and spider egg sacks in the kitchen attached to the walls above the stove. If you are cooking for more than 2 people, you might want to bring a frying pan. Hubs had to make pancakes one at a time. There is no wi-fi and cell signal is poor. This property is not good for small children or people with even slight mobility issues. The floor is very uneven. The stairs to the water are very steep. The stairs to the upstairs are extremely narrow and steep. The ceiling in the stairwell is very low; my husband cut the top of his head. There is no railing and it would be easy for small kids to fall off. We chose to leave a day early rather than spend one more night there. When we got there, we contemplated leaving right away, but we had spent so much money on it and couldn't get any of it back, we decided to try and stay. The kids had a great time in the water.

Great Lake access, but.......
The location and lake access, although there are steps down to the lake, are very good. We thoroughly enjoyed the private dock and small beach area and our golden retriever loved it. It is less than 10 minute drive to town and the area very quiet. However, the cabin was no where near up to the rate we had to pay. Upon entering, the cabin had an unpleasant smell. We opened the frig/freezer and there was a strong, terrible old dead fish stench. It was overpowering. The utility sink next to the laundry was filthy, there was dirt and hair caked in the basin, it just had not been cleaned. The kitchen sink was semi-clogged, draining very slowly. The cabin was “broom” clean but not really clean., which made us question the furniture and bedding. They should advertise in the cabin description to bring your own water because the filter is almost useless and they pump directly from the lake according to a sign next to the kitchen sink. If you want to use the fireplace, wood stove, bring wood or a splitter. The wood stacked outside is large rounds that won’t fit in the wood stove. One of the heaters didn’t work. The deck is great but the furniture barely useable. The location is great, but for the amount of money they charge, the cabin needs serious work. Doubt we’d stay here again without major cabin upgrades.

Old-School McCall at its Finest
This place was absolutely perfect. Yes, it is a bit rustic and rough around the edges, but for me that's part of the cabin experience. There are only a handful of survivors like this on the Payette, and frankly I'm surprised that this little charmer has withstood the pressure of an increasingly exclusive resort town. Surrounded by multi-million dollar chalets, Beth's Lakeside Cabin reminds us what lake life is all about: being outdoors, in the forest, on the water. There were only a couple of down sides: the master bed is very old and lumpy.... I would book another stay here in an instant if I knew the king mattress would be replaced first. Also, my wife believes the cabin could have been a bit cleaner overall, but this didn't really bother me much. Third, the kitchen sink was draining very slowly, and it was hard to tell if the garbage disposal was working. This location is absolutely gorgeous and quiet, the lake access is amazing, the dock is very nice, the porch is perfect, and the time capsule to my childhood days spending summers up here in our family's tiny pilgrim's cove cabin was priceless.
