"The Layfette is a historic hotel so it comes with the quirkiness of age. The floors squeak and the rooms are more compact but that is just part of the experience of staying in a hotel from another era. Our room had a newly redone bath and shower in a period black and white tile that fit the theme. The best surprise of the two-day visit was the breakfast. We are all accustomed to the typical hotel breakfast with plastic eggs, etc but the Layfette must have a Michelin Chef in that kitchen. They provide a voucher for a Traditional Breakfast or you can apply that toward anything on the menu, just pay the difference. I had the General's Pancakes and then the Stuffed French Toast. WOW! The extra flavors in both of these were just perfect. Everything was so good! Every other hotel breakfast will be nothing but a disappointment. A great start to the morning."

"This cabin was perfect for a weekend full of relaxation! The space inside is pretty small but worked out fine for two adults. The cabin and hot tub were very clean! It was a cold weekend when we visited but the cabin stayed very warm. Great experience and would definitely come back! "

"The cabin was just as perfect as it can be. We had no complaints or issues. It was home alway from home. Dave made sure we had his number incase we needed anything. We ended up having a huge snow storm come through and Dave and his wife made sure we knew we could stay longer if we needed. If you are booking for hunting, this is the place. Make sure you take Dave up on his offer on his land. You won’t regret. We didn’t leave empty handed. Thank you Dave!! "

"Lobby, pool, and breakfast area being renovated. Staff offered $30 discount to make up for that. Everything was clean and done well other than the chaos from the contractors at work."

"I left my necklace in my room and the staff showed their honesty by turning it into the front desk. The hotel kindly mailed me my necklace (I had to send a pre-paid envelope but that's fine.) Their helpfulness is very appreciated - especially when my necklace arrived at my home!"

"It was noisy re traffic however, New Year's Eve. Breakfast could have been better ie more fruit, healthier options. Overall satisfaction I will stay there again as needed. "
