"I've stayed in quite a few rentals and this was by far the best. Exactly what you would want for a mountain getaway in the winter. We were were lucky enough to have stayed during a snow storm - which made this place look and feel like the location of one of my wife's Christmas hallmark movies. Owls Nest had every imaginable amenity, incredibly clean, well kept and the location was quiet and private. Quaint but plenty of room for both of us and our two young daughters. About a 15 minute drive into town and all the typical activities in DCL. Hosts were easy to reach and very pleasant. We will absolutely be returning in the summer to enjoy the outdoor/lake activities. "

"We stayed here for a long weekend in the off season. The house was beautiful! We used the fire pit in the front of the house and there were plenty of seats. The bedrooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. The view from the back of the house on the lake was gorgeous. We had 8 people and used all of the rooms, we never felt crowded. The dinning room table was large enough for all of us to fit around. The kitchen was well stocked with all equipment needed. The only thing that I felt should have been mentioned is one of the bedrooms is above the garage but it had its own bathroom and a little deck attached to it. Other then that it was a great stay. The owners were also very responsive to our messages. I highly recommend this house to stay at"

"We reserved this cabin while searching for future vacations in Deep Creek. Very roomy attractive cabin among several individual cabins conveniently in McHenry. We were greeted by very friendly Jenner who gave us the checking info and directions for parking in front of the cabin. Two queen beds and modern kitchenette, bathroom and TV . Very close to grocery store, restaurants and coffee. More indoor lighting would have been welcome. "

"This house was perfect for our family of 4 with a dog. It had plenty of space and was recently renovated and well-stocked. The desks in the bedrooms came in handy as I had to work part of the time. The lakefront area is so nice. The Drinking Water system was a huge plus for us. We have one at home and usually make trips to the store to buy water when we are on vacation. No need for bottled water if you are staying at this property. Owners were very easy to work with as I had questions before and during our stay. "

"We loved staying in this beautifully built and furnished home. The sleeping accommodations were very comfortable with a main floor master bedroom, two basement bedrooms sharing a full bath with tub, and two upper floor bedrooms sharing a third full bath. Great gathering spaces on main and basement floors. Lots of smart TVs. Private and peaceful location but easy access to shopping, restaurants and area activities."
