What an incredible find - we absolutely loved our stay and it was just what we needed after a long trip down the I-5. We arrived 5 minutes after the kitchen closed for dinner, which leads to my only recommendation for improvement. We had breakfast the next day, which was SO yummy - clearly you have some wonderful kitchen personnel. Maybe consider some cheese/fruit platters or even sandwiches in your snack shop? I would have paid just about anything to avoid returning to town or resorting to the ramen we made do with. Bed was cozy, fireplace was charming, jetted tub was romantic. We will definitely seek you out the next time we pass your way, but we'll come before dinner closes!

We stayed in a luxury king room for two days. The room was beautifully set up, and everything was clean. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The same could not be said about the restaurant staff as we stood waiting to be seated without being acknowledged for so long that we chose other dining options. The second night, we ordered room service from the restaurant and received their famous stroganoff, which came with noodles overcooked and a New York strip that was over seasoned and felt like the chef dusted the steak with seasoning after it was grilled. The food experience was subpar for the price. The bed was uncomfortable and didn't have a consistent firmness. Some areas of the bed were softer than others. Both my partner and I woke up with back pain. The balcony was shared with other guests, and though we are non-smokers, there were tons of cigarette butts outside our room doorway. Having a wood burning fire place in the room made the visit feel warm and outdoorsy. It would be easy to spend a quite weekend alone with a loved on at this lodge.

Pre booked, arrived at 2:30, no gas stations in immediate area, only 4 cars in parking lot, and the place felt kind of empty and abandoned. Right next to the freeway. I was told check in was at 4 and my room wasn’t ready. Was also told going to the nearest rest stop up ahead would probably be better than letting my dogs out for a potty break around the property. I let them out anyway, then used the somewhat tired bathroom off the lobby, then decided to go find gas closer to Ashland. Once leaving and driving 10 miles further into Ashland I found a safer, cleaner, newer place to stay with people, restaurants and gas stations near. Did not return to this hotel, and I likely never will, and lost my $110 prebooking fee. Everything about this experience felt unwelcome and a little shady. I really wonder about all of the “wonderful” reviews about this place on Expedia. To be fair, I didn’t stay over. Gave 2 stars because the lady let me use the lobby bathroom with some kindness.

There is probably much more to explore here but we were just quick sleep-over guests enroute to SoCal. Seems like a place that would be fun to stay at with big group. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Staff was friendly and helpful.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Callahan's Mountain Lodge is a gem tucked away in a stunning mountain setting! The views are breathtaking, and the ambiance is pure tranquility. The staff at the front desk was amazing—welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. The real fireplaces in the rooms add such a cozy touch, and the hot tubs are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Being so close to Mt. Ashland ski area is a huge bonus for snow lovers like me. Best of all, it’s a dog-friendly oasis! My pup loved exploring the trails and lounging by the fire as much as I did. Honestly, I hesitate to write this review for fear of letting the secret out! If you’re looking for a serene escape, this place is unbeatable. Just promise to save me a room for next time! 😉
