The Space:
Acre Away is located in the tranquil town of Kangaroo Ground, 47 minutes drive away from Melbourne and an hour's drive from Yarra Ranges National Park. Panton Hill Pub, Montasalvat - Artists' Colony, Fondata - Italian Restaurant, and beautiful parks such as Banksia Park, and Ruffey Lake Park are nearby.
The ideal tiny house stands free-standing on the high ground of a 20-acre equine property surrounded by horses, ponies, and wildlife that passes by occasionally to keep you company.
A comfortable 139-square-foot tiny home with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Just a gentle heads-up, you might occasionally hear the hum of chainsaws, the rumble of tractors shifting hay, or the occasional buzz of neighbors on motorbikes.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house, except for the arena, horses, and ponies paddock, which must be arranged with the host in advance.

Acre Away sits in the tranquil neighborhoods of Kangaroo Ground, 47 minutes drive away from Melbourne and an hour's drive from Yarra Ranges National Park. There are many exciting attractions to explore, including bushwalking trails, stunning lookouts, and parks such as Banksia Park, and Ruffey Lake Park.
Historic Hurstbridge Village is a short drive away including various local markets nearby, native nurseries, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants.

- Yarra Ranges National Park is home to the world's tallest flowering tree, the Mountain Ash. It towers over lush tree ferns and mossy Myrtle Beech.
- Dark Horse Cafe, Wine & Produce is well known as a must-stop destination situated in the Yarra Glen, around Kangaroo Ground & Eltham area.

Getting Around:
By car:
- 3.6 km, and 5 min drive from Hurstbridge
- 43.5 km drive from Melbourne CBD. 47- 48 mins easy drive reachable by 2WD.
By public transport:
- Hursbridge Train Station is located 4km or 6 minutes. No public transport to the 'Acre Away'. It is a 1 hour walk 3.9km walk up a very steep hill. Uber available between $13 - $16
Other Things to Note:
- No WiFi
- No BBQ Grill
- Firewood costs $20 per tub
- Guests may bring horses overnight
- Horse agistment is $30 per horse per night
- Breakfast or any kind is not provided
- No unregistered guests or visitors allowed
- No smoking inside, except in designated areas
- Expect potential wildlife such as kangaroos, ducks, & foxes
- We have horses on the property and 2 cute Cavoodle dogs
- Telstra, Optus & Vodafone has good signal while the rest has no signal
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Farm guidelines
- Always remember to shut the gates before entering and leaving the paddocks
- Please do not enter horse paddocks or yards without the land host's permission
- We also ask guests not to feed farm animals as they are on specific diets for their health
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Keep in mind that outdoor cooking, BBQ grill, and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
