The Berry House
Upon arrival, owner was on property with repair service attempting to get gas refilled and heaters operational. Suggested that she thought she'd have to call and cancel our stay because of issues. The call to cancel would have been three hours into our drive there! The house was dusty. Dishes dusty. Garbage disposal broken yet had rotten smell because of food left in it. The Keurig coffeemaker had to be taken apart, cleaned and disinfected because of scum and mold in water tank and attachment. Toilet in bedroom two was unlevel and rocked when used. Magazine in bathroom, dated 2014, was thick with dust. Built in icemaker was broken and full of mold, inside and out. Could not ascertain whether CO monitors worked or not. There were camera monitors on the inside of the property! Working?? Seems the house had not been used in a very long time and, according to their Facebook page, it is a private residence. I would never recommend anyone renting this property for any reason. Did not feel it was safe and it certainly was not clean and fully operational. Will not be back.
