"Being retired I was a bit nervous about staying in South Beach, as I had never been there before. The Avalon is a true gem! My husband and I loved it ! The hotel is adorable, clean and right at the boardwalk and beach. The staff were all amazing and accommodating. The beach was so clean and beautiful and there were so many great restaurants right there. The police presence at the beach and night life made us feel very safe. "Great little historic hotel right on Ocean Drive facing the beach! We really enjoyed the hotel and its charm! Our room was very clean and the marble floors are great! The staff were very friendly and responsive when called upon. Depending on the time of year parking can be a little tricky as the hotel has no onsite parking. Plan to park in one of the city parking garages or use one of the valet services on Collins Street behind the hotel ($50 a night during our stay.)"
