Terrible "Hotel" with ZERO service
Booking my accomidation via "Hotels.com", I was not expecting the nightmare I would encounter during my trip to Miami. Since I booked in a rush I failed to read previous reviews, which would have had me come with diffrent expectations. The "Icon Brickel" is actuallhy the "Vicory Residences" next to the Vicory Hotel, as it is not marked with the right name, the cab driver dropped me off a few doors down. The Vicory Hotel front desk staff send me to the condiminum sales center, tjey send me to yet another door, and so fourth....coming from New York in February, carrying 2 50lbs suitcases and a larger purse in Florida heat was uncomfortable to say the least. When I finnaly arrived at the buidling there was no keys to my apartment, neither did the door man know which unit I would be staying in. He also said that there was no option to store my bags. .............Once I got into the apartment, it was nice and accaptably clean, some kitchen items were dirty (like the blender) and the wine bottle opener broke the first night. I can out of toilet paper and the only way to replenish was to go to the store and buy my own. There is a washer and dryer in the unit but only one single serving of laundry detergent. Overall the apartment is nice, but I expected to stay at a Hotel and not at a condiminium with ZERO hotel type service.

Disappointing
The first thing you have to know is that this is NOT a Hotel, its a rental condo, which by the way is very neglected, it needs cleanness and to renew the damaged furniture. There is no TV in the bedroom and the one in the livingroom has very little channels (Not even the news). There is no housekeeping so no one makes your bed or the dishes, neither is a Front Desk (only a security guard who is not trained to do anything). Finally the Vallet charges you per each stop (even if its 10 minutes) from 7 to 16 dollars if its overnight. The Spa is ok, but very busy. I am never coming back.

Confusing to get to
The hotel is not a hotel at all. It is condo's that are rented out...very very confusing at first. Lacked having a key for the elevator. The Property Management who rent the unites did not give us a key to the elevator so we had to go down to lobby and ask to go to another floor. The rooms were very nice (beds were not the best, but the rest of the room was nice...included a kitchen living room and washer/dryer that was good. Only stayed 2 nights and loved the spa and pool area. Very nice. Only bad thing was getting what we needed from the property management because the front desk did not have any info or could not help us. Still waiting for a coffee pot that worked!

Sorry guys... you are NOT doing well
Brickell One Is a very nice building: luxurious, well maintained and in a very good location. The problem begins when you enter the room, mostly because you are pretty much on your own, given it's an apartment really what you are renting and not a hotel room, so forget about customer service and the cleanliness and service you expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. The room was nice and spacious, but unfortunately, not well maintained: the room and bathroom doors were filthy in some areas, the walls have marks and the bathroom didn't feel very clean. I tried using an extra blanket from the closet, but had to forget about it, it was full of human hair and stains in some areas ("EW" as my seven year old would say). The feeling I got is that this apartment belongs to a person that has a few passive income-generating units, who gets a check every month for his rentals, but doesn't really knows what's going on with their maintenance and upkeep. My other BIG problem is that I was NEVER able to connect to the WiFi in the apartment; this was a business trip (3 days) so this was a major inconvenience, and I had to look for a Starbucks nearby to get my work done everyday. Yes, I called the property management company three times, and they promised to get back to me with a solution... I'm still waiting for their phone call, and I left the apartment 2 days ago. My advise to my fellow travelers: spend some more money and rent a REAL hotel room, this experience was a bad one...

Not what you would expect!
When you think about the Icon, you think of of a five star hotel, no questions asked. I was not aware that I was not stayong at a hotel suite as stated in the description, but instead an apt. owened by a third party; Elite City Stays Miami. That being said we did not have someone come and clean the room everyday, nor anyone to bring fresh clean towels. I read in the apt. manual that getting clean towles would cost an additinal $25 dollars. Did I mention I was on my honeymoon? Yes, I never imagined having to wash sheets and bath towels on my honeymoon. On to accomodations...you are able to use the "hotel" pool so that was good. However, we also wanted to also stay in, watch T.V and relax. The catch was; there was NO CABLE. We tried to several times to get in contact with someone but there was nothing but a phone number because, as we were told, the concierge nor hotel have nothing to do with anything gone wrong with the apt. So basically, we were screwed because that number was for questions and emergencies, except you can only cal Mon-Fri 9-5. Lastly, The toilet flushed constantly and when it felt like it, but I guess the immense running and waste of water wasn't our problem in the long run. Overall we wished we would have stayed somewhere else to have gotten the "hotel" feel instead of feeling like we were overstaying at Uncle Joes apt. Currently waiting for a response from Elite City Stays

Awful Conditions- waste of money
First of all, when booking through Expedia, we were not informed we were booking a residence not a hotel. The hotel did not have us registered and sent us to residence entrance where we were handed keys. No Customer Service! Bed had one sheet and blanket very thin. Not the luxury as depicted on Expedia site. Dining room chairs lacked cushions making it painful to sit at table. Satellite tv did not work!!! Dishes were unclean and had to be washed before use. I've been in dorms rooms that were in better shape!!!

We were unaware that the "hotel" room we would be staying in was actually a privately owned residence at the Icon Brickell. Therefore when we arrived at the location, there was not clear direction as to where we were to "check in". The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He provided us our envelope from "City Elite" with instructions to call them if there was anything wrong with the room. Once in the room, we were pleasantly surprised. Large spacious room, with separate living and bedrooms, excellent view of the downtown area, full kitchen and even washer and dryer. Unfortunately, the shower provided minimal water pressure and the toilet had a tendency to constantly run throughout the night, but otherwise the accommodations were good. The Icon Residence are centrally located in the Downtown, Brickell area and was located close to all the venues we needed to attend for our stay.

Loved it.
it was cheaper than the surrounding hotels, and sounded good. The checkin process was confusing, I went first to the (right-most) wrong lobby, they sent me to another (middle) wrong lobby, then they said "go to the residences lobby" all the way to the left. Nobody was there, back to the middle (viceroy) lobby where they said "oh that happens sometimes, we'll get your key' - they handed me my key and I was on my way. The elevators were crappy and sometimes dropped me at the wrong floor, another ThyssenKrupp failure; the door lock was finicky, but what a beautiful room! Totally worthwhile. Nobody gave me a wifi password, so I reset the router myself (sorry next guest, hope you're technically savvy) What a view!!! What a property! Plus what would a Miami hotel be wtihout a little blood splatter on the ceiling of the bathroom? Kind of funny, it was so clean otherwise. (don't take this to mean that the rest of the review is sarcastic, it seriously was nice) I had my business calls on the balcony, looking out at the ocean. You can't beat that. The people I was visiting in Miami were complaining about their hotel, they paid twice as much, and my place was twice as nice. I'd do it again, but you have to know what you're getting. It's NOT A HOTEL. It's a condo, and it's comfortable and fantastic.

Phenomonal hotel great amenities however staff and cleaning crew are not involved in anything. If you are local to South Florida no problems if you are a first time visitor choose the Viceroy instead.

Amazing!!
Our suite was in the 47th floor, although they provided us with one (1) elevator card, it was difficult yo manage between my husband and I. Self parking was across the street which made it convinience for us, since we refused to pay, almost $50.00 for overnight parking. Valet is $5.00, but your would not want to do the overnight valet parking. It was walking distance to Downtown Mary Brickell Village which has a lot of restaurants a a few night life bars, Cafe's and coffee shops.(i.e. Starbucks) We enjoyed it and would stay there again!!

You are on your own
The positives: the location is great. Beautiful pool and a comfortable size apartment. The negatives: No "plush bedding" as promised. Not even a fitted sheet for the bed. No blankets. Elite City Stays, which manages these apartments, won't call you back or offer any type of customer service. They'll take your money and leave you on your own. If there's something wrong with your apartment, good luck in trying to reach anyone for assistance. If you are planning a weekend stay, they are close on the weekends. AVOID if you have other options!!!

The floors were not that clean. No paper towel in the kitchen for 4 day stay!!!!!Aircondition was constantly showing 75 in that heat with the balcony doors always closed.,even I have called somebody to adjust it!!!! Everytime you flush the toilet awful noise came from the laundry room especially at night could have scared the neighbors......TV HAS NEVER WORKED and they had only one TV in the living room only, not in bedroom.... I have expected somebody making an effort putting new furniture instead bringing in 12 year old couches to the living room for this beautiful hotel...... After all I did not find what I have expected of Viceroy residences.....

Good place, dissapointing services
To our surprise, this is a temporary apartment rental (by the day), not a hotel. This should be better identified by Expedia. I would rate high the apartment view, and space. HOWEVER, the TV did not work... seems that the cable service fee was unpaid… I would assume that a place like this would include this service. I would also rate high the amenities. I would rate very low the service from reception (do they have anything to do with these rentals? They seem very absent from any support or even question you may ask - no service attitude); valet parking is also a concern, too busy, not well organized, .... where is the service attitude... for something they charge 36 USD/day?

The room was very nice, however there was black dog hair everywhere and even after cleaning it up, dog hair and other dustmites came under the door from the hallway regularly. The staff was of NO service to us the whole time we were there. I asked about places to visit nearby and the two gentlemen working would not answer me at all. I would not go back.

Luxury condo as a hotel room
I think it's important to realize that this is not really a hotel (the Super Shuttle guy didn't even know where it was). It's a luxury high-rise condominium that is renting out rooms - probably because they couldn't sell the condos after the real estate crash. But they are beautiful rooms that are a very good value. Very nice materials and superb views of the city. There are most of the amenities of a hotel, except for daily cleaning service and a front desk. There are no movies and some satellite service, but there is a DVD player and a WiFi access point dedicated to each room. There are multiple pools and an exercise room.

Perfect and luxurioux home away from home
You need to understand that this place is not actually a hotel. Icon Brickell is comprised of about 3-4 buildings that are connected to one another. ONE of these buildings only has an actual hotel inside (on the 14 first floors) and it's called the Viceroy. The other buildings are residential condos. Our unit belonged to a company who bought some condos within the same building as Viceroy and rents them out as a "hotel" would. The bad part was that we weren't actually part of the hotel, so we didn't have any day to day service, and there were a lot of complications upon our arrival because we arrived earlier than our check-in time and the residential buildings can't keep your suitcase, like a hotel would. The person at the entrance was very helpful, courteous and kind, but you must understand that you're not actually going to a hotel... We were on the 18th floor. GORGEOUS view, very LUXURIOUS unit, very luxurious building and walking distance from everything nice and important in the Brickell district. You can also catch a mover (which is a monorail) just a block away and travel around for free. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

DISAPPOINTING
We've heard so many great things about the Icon experience in Miami that we really looked forward to this stay. In fact, we USED TO consider buying a unit there, but not any longer! Except for a fantastic building exterior, the Icon Brickell had very little to offer. We've first arrived to the Icon's hotel check-in desk by mistake but the staff looked totally confused despite the fact that it was located in the same lobby - literally 10 feet away - from the Icon residencies check-in. They did walk us to the Residencies later but made sure they've declared that they have nothing to do with each other. Then the Residencies staff also stated that they have nothing to do with the Elite City Stays and that they "just bring them an envelope with the keys," so we were pretty much on our own. The 1-bedroom appartment we got was on the 47th floor -- a guaranteed amazing city view which we loved!.. However, the unit itself was a clearly used up short-term rental with questionable maintenance and bare-bones setup, far from an "Elite Stay" advertised: visibly beat up furniture and walls, cheap sheets and towels, not even a soap dish or Kleenex in the bathroom, one working TV channel, and to top it off - a shower curtain rod that fell on my husband's head at the first touch and couldn't be fixed! Not my idea of an "elite stay"!..Plus, the 47th floor location quickly turned into a nightmare with the "Club 50" partying until 4AM - we couldn't wait to check out ! What a disappointment!
