Take in the panoramic views of the river and watch the sun set before your eyes on our spacious deck. At night enjoy almost complete silence as you gaze at the stars around the fire pit. Located 2.5 miles from Saint Clements Castle & 8.7 miles to Wesleyan University this 3700 sq ft home features cathedral ceilings, marble foyer, granite counters, hardwood floors, large deck, two fireplaces, "touch" state of the art kitchen, your own private beach & the list goes on. Almost every room has a view of the river. **We now sleep 9 people, we added a 48"x75" Futon to the spare room (sheets provided)

Details:
Level 1 features three bedrooms, 2 rooms with queen beds, 1 room with two twin beds all bedrooms have a view of the river. The full bath has double sinks with granite counter tops and a shower/tub. There is also a lower living room with a 43' LCD TV, couch & games to sit & relax. New 2023- all 3 bed rooms have A/C

Level 2- Overlooking the river the main floor features laundry room, half bath, breakfast nook with fireplace insert (wood not included) , gourmet kitchen with stainless touch appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked w/ pots, pans, utensils, air fryer/toaster, almost everything you would need for cooking. The living room has a 60' TV w/ 7 channel surround sound, DVD player with over 150 movies, leather couch & love seat. The dining room has a large cherry table with seating for 6-8.
Step outside to the huge deck to enjoy panoramic views and spectacular sunsets. The deck features an outside 32' LCD TV, outside speakers, couch & lounge chairs with over stuffed cushions, large eight person dining table, propane fire-pit with seating for eight, grill, and a air-chair swing and hammock underneath the deck.

Level 3- The upper level features the master bath with double sinks, granite counter. The beautifully tiled shower has a full glass door, 4 body sprays and a rain shower head. The master bedroom has its own small deck overlooking the river, a 50' TV, an a fireplace with a propane log-set and a large closet. The last room on the upper level is the Study/Bedroom with a 23' Google TV, Futon and a window seat to enjoy the view. (WiFi & Satellite TV through out the home)

Need some piece and quite but still want to have fun? This property is completely private. The 1/4 mile driveway takes you away from any noise leading you to complete privacy & solitude. No neighbors to be seen or heard from including across river. The sounds you would hear would consist of birds, (including a Bald Eagle nesting across the river) and boats traveling the river.

Private beach on the river!
A walk down a stone path will lead you to a deck. Here a staircase brings you to your own private beach on the river. Enjoy the day hanging out on the beach, canoeing, watching the boats, swimming in the river or just make a campfire and relax. 2 canoes and a rowboat are available for you to enjoy at the beach. (Beach items available during peak season)

**The property has a helipad. Helicopters approach from South East (river side) land left of the house. A windsock is located on the roof.

Takes Your Breath Away
Beautiful house, sitting high and overlooking the Connecticut River. Can't imagine a more beautiful setting. Very large kitchen, great for cooking in with friends. Even has an adjacent helicopter pad (although it's $4k to go from Hartford airport to the house, 1-way!). Had a great time.

Silver Lining on a sad trip
A number of friends and I stayed here to be nearby our friends wake and memorial service. It was a really nice homely, quiet space that had plenty of room for everyone and the view over the river is gorgeous. Would love to come back sometime for more uplifting circumstances

Family Thanksgiving
The house and views are beautiful. We had 9 of us including 2 5 year olds and a 2 year old. We made a full Thanksgiving dinner in the well equipped kitchen. The house has very large "public" spaces on the main floor, which was great for our group. Had a great stay everything we needed was near by and there are literally no neighbors once you reach the house. The front porch and fire pit are great although pretty cold when we were there. My only suggestion is that for a group our size a few more comfortable chairs inside would be appreciated.

Unbeatable View
We are just off our annual girls trip and enjoyed this beautiful view for 4 nights. The outdoor space is spectacular ~ the view, the deck, firepit and riverfront beach are outstanding. We were very fortunate to have amazing weather and therefore spent almost the entire weekend outdoors. The house itself is tired and certainly has its share of quirks, if we had to be indoors all weekend we would have enjoyed the stay as much. The owner was very responsive to any issues we had and was ready with a solution to almost everything we needed. Thank you for a memorable trip!

AMAZING Property
This home is incredible!! The view is gorgeous, the big porch is relaxing and had a lovely, gas fire pit. The home was comfortable and in perfect condition when we got there. The kitchen had everything you need and a convenient island. We also enjoyed dipping our feet in the water and taking in the view. Great sunsets. There is also plenty to do in the area for dinner, breweries, wineries, etc. We enjoyed Arrigoni Winery down the road during our stay with live music. Dean was an excellent host. He greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you, Dean, for sharing your beautiful home!

Great family gathering spot
The house worked out perfectly for our family gathering during a full weekend of Wesleyan University's graduation festivities. The location was minutes to campus and would be perfect for reunions and other campus events. We really enjoyed the deck overlooking the river and the view really is beautiful. The walk to/from the property's riverfront is steep but the reward is a private beach and the use of a canoe and kayak. The local area is charming and we had a nice hike in the nearby state park. Dean was responsive to our questions and accommodating of some special requests. It might help if Dean could provide a better written guide on the AV system for those who are technologically challenged and to place a few more comfortable chairs in the bedrooms and on the master bedroom deck so that those seeking to relax privately can do so. With the steep walk down to the river, those who are not young and strong will find it difficult to carry the boats down the last set of stairs.

Very Private and Peaceful Home
Celebrating my husband's 60th birthday, this was the perfect location for our family to get together. The house is very clean and modern. The large deck overlooks the water and the magnificent sunsets. My family members enjoyed the kayak, canoe, and fishing, and we all enjoyed relaxing by the the gas fire pit. As stated in other reviews, there is a steep walk down to the water. Take it slow, and you'll be fine. The backyard is also steep, so suggest that young kids play in the side yard where it is more level. There is a bonus room next to the master bedroom on the upper level. We put our grandson's pack and play in this room....A pull out couch or another bed in this room would also be useful. Note: There is a crib in the basement, but it wasn't assembled. Suggest bringing a bassinet or pack and play for young children. As stated in another review, the basement level smelled musty the first day, so we opened up windows to air it out. A/C is on the first and second floors only. We had great weather so we went apple picking, went to a brewery, and went on a river cruise. If you are looking for peace and quiet with great views, look no further.

Very Good Stay
The property is nicely secluded and located in a stunning setting, with fantastic views over the river and a beautiful, large deck from where to apprieciate it all. The master bedroom is also great. The common area is open and light. The kitchen is modern and well-provisioned. So, overall a very good place to stay. A couple areas for potential improvement that made this a 4-star, rather than 5-star, experience: * "Bedroom" 5 is not a suitable bedroom for a 9th guest, as the "futon" is not sleepable (and we are not primadonnas), so our 9th guest slept on sofa cushions on the floor This could be easily rectified with a proper futon/sofa at minimal expense (and sheets should be provided). *The bedroom with the bunk beds does not have a railing along the top bunk, which made the kids too scared to sleep there for fearing of falling off * The inside common area with sofas/TV has seating for only five people and when you have nine people at the house, this doesn't work so well. Again, easily rectified by adding another small couch (there is space to do so). * Generally, our interaction with Dean was very good and he was always responsive. One exception was that we arrived to discover that the oven was not working (which Dean was getting repaired), but it would have been nice to have a heads up in advance so that we could have planned our food accordingly. Notwithstanding these issues, however, we all had a really good stay and would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic view but rooms not all usable
Myself and two friends, along with their 3 grade school age kids were looking to have a week away and we wanted to be on the water. We found this house that looked to fit the bill. When we arrived we were indeed impressed with the fantastic view of the Connecticut River from the gorgeous deck and we were down at the river almost every day enjoying the cool water and eagles flying overhead. However, we were expecting to have use of 4 bedrooms and two baths which would have been plenty of space for our group. 3 of the bedrooms are in the basement with a small sitting room equipped with a TV which is nice to have as an alternative to the upstairs living room. When we opened the door leading to the basement a very strong musty smell emanated from that area so the moms did not want to stay in those rooms with their kids forcing them to all pile into the master bedroom on the top floor (I stayed in the basement even though the smell wasn't great). The master bedroom room does have a king sized bed so two adults can share it but who wants to spend their vacation sharing a room with another adult and 3 kids? They had to purchase an air mattress to provide a bed for the kids and also purchased new sheets for the bed as the ones that were provided were pilling and felt like sand on your body. Needless to say, my friends didn't sleep well on this trip even though the rest of the house was very nice. The main floor has a living room and dining room with a nice big table we would eat dinner at and play games. The deck is absolutely wonderful and we spent many evenings out there enjoying the firepit and the mornings were mild and pleasant before the sun came over to that side of the house. I would also suggest that you bring your own inner tubes. We found those to be the best to use on the river. There is one kayak and it is a one-person as well as a rowboat although we had to use the kayak oars as the rowboat oars were missing or broken.

Great family get away
My husband and our adult children spent a wonderful long weekend at this beautiful, spacious, clean, and well appointed property. It was a perfect location to gather and enjoy each other’s company. The deck is especially stunning with amazing views. Although there are plenty of restaurants nearby, we did our own cooking in the spacious kitchen. Another feature we enjoyed was the ability to be all together without ever feeling cramped. And the host was easily available for any questions. We highly recommend this lovely property!

The house was a perfect place to celebrate my husbands Birthday> loved the layout of the house and the views!!! The stairs down to the river were under construction and it made it a bit scary, especially for kids. would of liked a heads up on that. overall a great experience and would love to go back

Beautiful views
Very nice large house with huge deck and beautiful views. Two days before arrival owner notified me that stairs to beach were under construction but still would have full access. Stairs (178 of them) and temporary railing were very shaky and did not feel safe. There were also tools and construction debris on and around them. Our main reason for choosing this house was for ‘beachfront’ access, so not being safe to use to get down to water was disappointing. A couple of people in our group went all the way down and said there was also construction debris on small beach. If we knew we were not going to be able to use beach, we would have chosen less expensive accommodations.

Excellent Stay!
I rented this property with six of my friends and we had such a great time! The deck area was perfect. We were fortunate with amazing weather so we ate all of our meals out there and enjoyed the fire pit each evening. There were hiking trails close by and some excellent restaurants just a 10 to 15 minute drive away. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for a larger group to get together.

We have a very nice time, the pictures and description is accurate. The view is pretty & it was neat to see all the different boats during the day. Dean was extremely responsive, great host. If you’re looking for a workout definitely hit the stairs going down to the river! There is a very cute vineyard/winery just 5 minutes down the road, highly recommended.

So much more than expected!
We had an amazing visit at the river house. The views are breathtaking and the pictures don't do it justice. The deck was so relaxing from coffee in the mornings all the way through to sunset in the evenings. The interior of the home was lovely and very comfortable as well - MANY extra amenities provided which was very nice. The only thing that could be added would be directions on how to use some of the features of the home. However, Dean was very quick to respond and give answers to all questions. The location was perfect - very secluded yet very close to town for restaurants and grocery stores. We truly enjoyed the time there and would love to visit again!
