Originally planned as a country club community, Mill Creek has grown to a population of more than 18,000 while still maintaining its small-town charm and natural beauty. Enjoy the area’s outdoor attractions, which include a large trail network and numerous parks. Mill Creek also offers fantastic dining and varied shopping and of course, golf.
Experience Mill Creek’s pretty landscapes on its 23 miles (37 kilometers) of trails. Bring binoculars to look for wildlife along the popular North Creek Trail. Watch for migrating and local birds and try to identify species by their appearance and song. You may also startle an occasional deer.
Head back into town to explore some of the 11 urban parks. Take family and friends to Mill Creek Sports Park to use its soccer field, baseball diamond and skate park. Highlands Park, Heron Park and Pine Meadows Park all feature deluxe playgrounds and large picnic areas.
For shopping, visit the dozens of stores at the Town Center on Main Street where you can purchase anything from locally made items to house wares. Select from a variety of restaurants lining the open-air mall’s broad sidewalks for an evening meal or drink. When your feet tire, rest on a seat in one of the plazas and people-watch.
Non-members can access the private Mill Creek Country Club by taking a lesson. Alternatively, play 18 holes at a few of the public golf courses in and around the community.
Mill Creek is 22 miles (35 kilometers) north of Seattle. This is about a 30-minute drive during non-peak traffic times, but may be longer during rush hour. If you don’t have a car, use regular bus services between Mill Creek and surrounding towns, including Everett which has a passenger train stop.
