"Great little place in a gorgeous town. Very reasonably priced with friendly helpful staff. The town is close to so many fantastic places such as Penola, Coonawarra wineries, national park and beaches at Southend and Beachport. We weren’t planning to visit Penola but did so when a staff member recommended it and so glad we did."

"The meals were very generous and good pub fare. The room was not heated at all, so be aware in winter it's cold!! An electric blanket would have been helpful. That said, the blankets were warm. Wifi didn't work in the rooms, so we weren't able to watch anything or plan the next day (no tv). Wifi worked in the shared lounge and in the bar. It was clearly a grand hotel in its day, nice that not too much has been modernised. "

"Almost don't want to say how great this is in case I can't get another booking! Was so nice to be somewhere quiet and private with plenty of room for multigenerational family and several dogs. Everything was great and comfortable, and the owner was lovely to deal with. Such a great holiday!"

"Quiet and peaceful. Rustic charm with almost everything that was required. The cons were that the heating/cooling system was very noisy and drowned out the TV whenever it cut in. The shower was barely adequate due to water pressure and being over the bath entirely unsuitable for elderly or disabled. The mattresses are VERY firm resulting in poor, uncomfortable sleep so we left property a day earlier than planned. "The perfect remedy to stressful life. A couple of nights here and I honestly feel renewed. Sophie is just wonderful, the most warm, thoughtful, welcoming host.
