"Outstanding! This was our favorite stay and the best value over 24 days on the South Island. The unit is really spacious and thoughtfully well stocked. The attention to detail and the care invested in providing a great experience is evident. The outdoor space and tub are a gem, along with the glow worm dell. The owners are very kind and should give lessons on hospitality. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Pro tip - booking on their website is cheaper. "

"We loved our cabin at The Sandcastle. It was spacious and had a rustic old holiday camp feel about it. If you are expecting pristine modern accommodation, this is not the place for you. The setting is beautiful and only a 5-10 minute walk from one end of Pahora beach. Kitchen had all we needed to cook some meals in, although no oven, it had 2 hot plates and a microwave, toaster and kettle. Bathroom had no shampoo or soap so bring your own. "Beautiful scenic beach house, easy access to the beach. Newly built, quite clean, but there were a dozen huge annoying flies buzzing around the living room when we arrived. Also the second bedroom was locked from the inside with no way of unlocking it without a key, which we didn't have. Otherwise, the place was perfect, nicely decorated and designed. The motion sensor lights were a great feature, as well as the huge picture window."
