Convenient to access with a car, but parking is limited and roads in the onsen town are very steep and narrow. Restaurants close early so it is worth dining at your own ryokan or bringing food.

Irresponsible Hotel left us outside in a typhoon
"We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. We were left in the typhoon with ..."

"Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. ..."
