Enjoy the solitude and tree house feel and connect with nature at this secluded 2000 square foot 3 story rustic cedar log cabin nestled among the laurel and
rhododendron bushes with a walking path down to a bubbling creek. Enjoy the privacy of 3 bedrooms with king beds, bathrooms, and access to a covered deck

Great location and clean. Secluded, woodsy, foggy mornings. Smell of pine and cedar throughout. Sound of wind in the trees. It was lovely.

Beautiful
The location of the cabin is a short drive to everything. The casino in Murphy is close by, Blue Ridge etc. There was more to do in the area than there was time for. The drive to the cabin is very pleasant and scenic. I had read some complaints about the steepness of the drive and the roadway needing repairs. The steepness is no problem with probably any time of vehicle. There was a bad storm while we were there that caused some washing out but the road is in really good condition despite the amount of rainfall. Use Waze for directions and it will take you there. There is plenty of wildlife to see - deer, rabbits, wood chucks etc. The cabin itself very nice. All 3 floors have nice bedrooms and bath rooms. It’s nice to sit on the balcony and watch the wildlife. It is well stocked, the only thing we needed to bring was coffee filters. With a dartboard, hot tub, pool table , lots of games, books, ample seating, there is plenty to do at the cabin even though there is equally plenty to do within a short drive. The walk down to the creek is a bit steep but worth the effort. There are path ways and steps to make it easier. I will go back, beautiful place. the cabin itself

In the woods, on the side of a mountain and secluded
In all, it was a nice cabin. But it definitely needs some maintenance. Various items are broken or heavily worn, the pool table and hot tub are in pretty bad shape. The place is generally worn down and needs some love. The “driveway” is driving up the side of a mountain on a gravel road, I would not arrive for the first time in the dark, but once you do it once you should be good, unless another car is coming from the other direction. I have no idea how you would get up there if there were ice. The low per night fee is misleading. The fees eventually appear when you look for them, but most of us start our search with a nightly fee. After you add all the fees, our nightly fee doubled. So something to be careful of. In all, we enjoyed out time, but the cabin could use some maintenance. Beds were comfy & clean, all the kitchen stuff we needed was available.

Roomy but cozy
We really enjoyed our time at this cabin. It was secluded and quiet. The bed was really comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. It had tons of space but felt cozy. We loved spending time in the hot tub and playing pool. It was nice spending time on the decks and listening to the creek. Please make sure that if you need to contact the management company you do it through their platform not VRBO. They do not respond to VRBO messages. I didn't understand that and had trouble getting ahold of them at first. Once I figured it out they were very good about responding. The last couple of roads getting to the cabin were rock, narrow and steep. We didn't have any trouble in our Equinox but can see how you would have trouble in snow or ice. We would definitely rent again if we were in the area. Beautiful!

Charming & Secluded
We loved the cabin & the privacy of the area!! Loved building fires in the fireplace.. playing pool downstairs, visiting the creek and enjoying the hot tub! My only warning: bring any paper goods you may need including coffee filters, aluminum foil, ziploc bags, etc. We couldn’t find any coffee filters for the coffee maker. The driveway can be tough! Make sure you arrive during daylight! Overall loved our stay!

Nice
Most everything was really nice and comfortable, the property and cabin were lovely. Unfortunately, this was the first time I experienced some negative observations with my booking. There were no couch linens, and we had booked a sleeping for 8 accommodations. The laundry room specified please put couch linens there to be washed, what linens?? My son had to just sleep on the couch with a throw blanket and a plain pillow, and we just didn't use the pull out couch! What was the reason NOT to have kitchen towels? We had to wash the hand towels constantly to dummy-up as kitchen towels. The main porch off the living room was not even swept, deck full of dust and pollen, I had to clean it before the rest of the Family came. That was disappointing, you know it was not looked at when you find someone else's OLD cigarette butt on the wooden coffee table on the porch! Overall, I will say it was a good booking, but am not able to say this time that it was excellent. Please coach the staff with these needed features, because I know others will feel the same way. Thank you.

Couples Get Away
The cabin was clean upon check in & everything was very smooth. Since reviews we read, there have been some extra cook wear added. The only thing we missed in the kitchen was a Kureg for coffee. we had to buy coffee & filters which we left because none of us use at home. The downstairs rec room was set up nice & we enjoyed the music & pool table & chess game. The books were very interesting as well. Master bedroom was great, bed was comfortable. Bedroom on main floor had a VERY soft mattress, verticles were most torn or missing. Bedroom downstairs were very firm, just so the next people will know what beds to choose. Overall, we had a great vacation. The only thing that really upset was the allotment of wood?? My BFF & I love to stay in & keep a fire burning so we got extra the 2nd day (which was very small amt.) we asked for more the 3rd day & was told we would have to go out & buy it. We did, however was not seasoned wood & we couldn't even get a fire started with it. Really? It's cold in the mountains, can't you put a load of firewood out to be enjoyed?

Wonderful little gem!
We chose to stay here as a safe getaway in the midst of COVID. We absolutely loved this property, and definitely want to make future trips to stay here. It was peaceful and cozy. The only minor complaint we had was that the shower curtain liner was moldy in the main floor bathroom, and it was a little unsettling to realize in the middle of a shower. However, it was such a small detail that it didn’t negatively affect our overall feelings. I do agree with previous posters that you may want to bring your own pots, pans, and utensils. There were some available, but we preferred using our own.

Really nice place to stay!
If you're looking for a quiet place with room to spread out, Laurel Creek is a great place to be, with bedrooms on each of three floors and separate outdoor deck with furniture outside of each bedroom. There is plenty of space to gather with friends and family, but there is also space to be by yourself and quiet. Our only small complaints were that some of the pots and pans were old and had seen lots of use, and that one of the shower curtains had a bit of mildew. Otherwise, this was the perfect cabin and perfect location.

Not worth the Money. Not worth your time. Disgusting AND Filthy
Let me begin with saying the cabin is absolutely beautiful, excellent location. BUT... Unfortunately this cabin was extremely filthy and disgusting. When you come in the front door an overwhelming horrific smell hits you. All three beds were covered in human and dog hair. Pillow covers had blood stains to match the blood spatter on the night stand. All remote controls, light switches and door handles where covered in boogers, hair and sticky stuff. All three bathrooms were horrendous. Sink had eyelashes, tubs had pubic hairs and walls were covered in others peoples hair. It was such a shame. This is a beautiful cabin that unfortunately it isn't being managed properly. The hired cleaning lady has drastically dropped the ball in this place. It makes you feel so icky once you go inside. You don't want to sit on any of the furniture, take your shoes off and feel relaxed. And forget about using the kitchen. ALL utensils, pots/pans and even the counters are in such bad shape. You definitely do not feel safe putting your food down and using any of the utensil to put it in your mouth. The thought of it is actually nauseating when you see the condition of everything in there. All cabinet faces had red sticky stuff and the floor was covered in other peoples food. ( peas, carrots,) This cabin needs a MAJOR disinfecting/cleaning. Its very unsanitary they way they keep it. STAY away from the hot tub too. You can tell that water hasn't been replaced in months.. yet they claim they empty it and clean it after very guest. Lies. All Lies. My family and I were so disappointed. You get so excited when you book this cabin and expect an amazing experience. That is not what we got at all. Our kids wouldn't stop crying from how disgusted they were being inside the cabin. We had to leave and drive 45 min. to the nearest hotel. Yes the property manager refunded some of our money, but that doesn't give us back our time. Our wasted time. They don't even make it better by giving a full refund and help find a new cabin. It seems its all about money. Not the consumer. Save yourself the hassle and stay away from this cabin. There are other ones out there that I'm sure are WAY cleaner than this one will ever be.

Great Family Stay!
This was our family’s first stay in the Blue Ridge area and the cabin was perfect for our needs! Although it’s off the beaten path, it was a beautiful place to relax and recharge. Our kids loved playing in the creek behind the cabin and viewing all the wildlife (deer, a family of turkeys, even a curious raccoon!). The cabin was spacious enough for our family of 5 to have plenty of room, yet cozy and charming at the same time. We look forward to returning!
