Lazy Bear Lodge is a short 10 to 15-minute drive from downtown Blue Ridge, Aska Adventure Area, and Lake Blue Ridge! Wineries and local breweries are also nearby! Or stay in and enjoy the beautiful 2000 sqft cabin and 1500 sqft of deck with year-round mountain views.

Our cabin is nestled in the mountains at the end of a long driveway. Four wheel drive is NOT needed! There is only a handful of cabins on our street and no close neighbors, giving you a private and romantic setting perched on two acres.

The Lazy Bear Lodge welcomes you into an inviting family room with vaulted ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace reaching two stories high. The open concept of the main floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, with everything you need to make meals. There are homages to bears throughout the cabin, along with nature-themed accents like acorn décor, rustic log railings, log beds, and lamps made of antlers.

Imagine the ways to spend your time here. We like to sink into the comfy reclining couch or loveseat and stare into the Blue Ridge Mountains, or flip on the LED Smart TV and watch a movie. But if you’re seeking some quiet time, the large loft overlooking the family room is a great place to curl up with a book. And our favorite part of this cabin is the 1500 sqft of covered deck! The rocking chairs are a great place to bear witness to the breathtaking mountain views. When lunch or dinner times arrive, fire up the Weber grill, connected to a 150-gallon propane tank.

When you’re done cooking, head down to the basement where there are plenty of games to play. Have a blast in the game room, playing air hockey, foosball, and board games. But the fun won’t end when the sun goes down. We like to get a fire going in the fire pit to make S’mores or take a late-night dip in the 4-person hot tub.

When you’re ready to hibernate, look no further than the three cozy bedrooms. The inviting master bedroom upstairs has a log style king bed with comfy mattress and a private balcony overlooking the valley, with mountain views. Before bed, grab a glass of wine and draw a hot bath in the jacuzzi tub, located in the master suite bathroom. On the main floor, the comfy queen bedroom suite opens out to the large wraparound deck. Step out from either bedroom to start your day watching an unforgettable sunrise. There’s also a bunkhouse downstairs with three twins, one full, and one trundle twin.

• Bathrooms – main level bath with tub/shower combo; upstairs master bath with Jacuzzi tub, shower; basement bath with shower
• Pet-Friendly – Two well-behaved dogs with prior approval, size is usually limited to 35 pounds
• A small and large metal dog kennel is available for you to use. If these are not suitable, please bring your own as we require your dogs to be crated when you are outside or when you leave
• Dining Room – dining table seats 7
• Media – Dish Network satellite, Netflix, wireless internet, local phone, smart TVs throughout the cabin so you can log into your favorite streaming account.
• Family Room – power reclining sofa, reclining/glider combo love seat, Amish rocking chair, fireplace, LED smart TV, Dish satellite service
• Laundry – brand new washer and dryer in the downstairs bathroom
• Paved driveway with parking for 4 vehicles. The driveway​ has a very steep portion on the way in, but it is paved
• Starter supplies are provided; 2 rolls paper towels, 2 rolls toilet paper in each bathroom, hand soap, dish soap, 3 dishwasher detergent pods, laundry detergent, one small bar of shower soap in each bathroom, and 4 garbage bags

Guests making reservations and all guests on the property must be at least 25 years old, except those who are in the presence of their parent(s) or legal guardian. By submitting your reservation, you are confirming you are at least 25 years old and all guests are at least 25 years old or in the presence of their parent(s)/legal guardian.

Safety is our number one concern and we want you to have a great vacation. Our cabin has not been child-proofed so please be aware of this if booking with young children.

Nightly rental rates are based on 6 people. There is a fee of $15 per person per night for each person over 6 up to the maximum occupancy (10). Everyone, including kids, count as a person.

Security Cameras – This property is protected with outside security cameras. The cameras are used to protect the property from potential break-ins. There are no cameras inside the house or viewing the hot tub or other guest gathering areas.

We do not accept reservations more than a year out. And please, no checking in or out on a holiday. This helps our cleaners so they can be with family on those days.

We do accept well-behaved dogs. No puppies! Your dog must be potty-trained and one year of age. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture out of respect for our other guests. Dogs must be crated when you leave the cabin.

100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date. Less than 14 days before arrival no refunds. All reservations require a signed rental agreement that will be emailed within 24 hours of booking. Driving directions are emailed to you seven days prior to your arrival along with a unique electronic code to access the cabin. We do not accept reservations further than eight months from the current date.


We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance, which may provide coverage for illness due to COVID-19 should you be diagnosed and prevented from travel at the time of your departure. It may not provide coverage for travel bans, shelter in place orders, or fear of travel. Be sure to carefully read the policy coverage for details.
