"If you like large resorts, you will enjoy RIU Jambo. The food at the buffet and the drinks were very good. The bartenders were all friendly, especially at the swim up bar. The beach is beautiful and the warm ocean is very swimmable. We appreciated being able to find beach and pool chairs to use. My only disappointment was we stayed for three nights and were only able to make reservations at one of the two specialty restaurants that wasn’t a buffet - even though I logged on immediately after arriving in the early afternoon. "

"We spent four nights at the hotel before staying at a large, expensive all-inclusive resort. After the all-inclusive, we came back to Double A, which we preferred. We enjoyed the personal service, being steps from the beach and the swimming pool that was shaded by beautiful flowering trees. The breakfasts which were included were excellent. The bartenders, chefs and waitstaff were all friendly and attentive.The dining area overlooks the ocean and the food was delicious. There is also a pool table that is free to use. "Unbelievable ocean views just steps down from the property! Every seat in the dining area has a spectacular ocean view. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The pool is clean, refreshing, and offers sun or shade options in a tranquil setting. "

"Low rise buildings (mostly ‘bungalows’) set in colourful, well tended gardens within the owners grounds, with direct and wide access to a beautiful beach. The owners treat visitors almost as their personal guests (in a non invasive friendly way) The manager Margaret speaks good English and could not be more helpful or friendly. The staff team too are friendly and efficient. Flame tree cottages has a well kept swimming pool and beach bar serving a good variety of drinks and food, not as ‘exciting’ as some other local restaurants but with good portions. There are kayaks on offer and Flame tree have their own dhow boat offering reasonably priced & sometimes private excursions (guests can just say where they want to go, or ask for recommendations). Breakfasts are plentiful & special diets are catered for, served on the terraces outside each bungalow. Flame tree cottages is in a convenient location within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafes, a turtle sanctuary, local housing etc. It’s an oasis of calm within quite a busy & interesting community with the added advantage of being directly on a beach with glorious sunsets. Many locals will approach you daily to try to sell you things -no hot water in the shower -occasional power outages, but only lasts a few minutes "
