The house itself was really nice with a good size lounge, well appointed kitchen and separate dining room. "We stayed for 9 days to relax, visit Paris and boulder in Fontainebleau forest. Gîte du Val D’auneau was the perfect base. Incredibly spacious, private and well appointed, we didn’t want for anything. Excellent pool area kept the kids happy for hours a the lovely covered outdoor dining area was a wonderful place to eat. Alberic was such a lovely host - he booked dinner for us and provided my daughter with a more suitable sized bike - nothing was too much trouble. "We had wonderful quiet days in this accommodation No. 2. Everything is available and it was cosy and warm inside when it was cold outside. We slept very well in the beds. We didn't hear any fireworks. It was very quiet. Our dog had plenty of room to run around the garden and we were the only guests and could let him run free. Summer Vacation

"We stayed for 9 days to relax, visit Paris and boulder in Fontainebleau forest. Gîte du Val D’auneau was the perfect base. Disappointing Stay Despite Good Facilities

"I recently stayed at Résidence Océane for a week for business, and unfortunately, my experience was quite poor. The hotel failed to meet basic expectations in several critical areas. Firstly, there was no fresh bedding linen or towels provided for the entire duration of my stay, so one large towel and 2 small hand towels for a week. This lack of cleanliness and attention to guest comfort is unacceptable. Additionally, there were no cleaners to address these issues or maintain the room's hygiene at anytime through my stay. This was evident even on arrival when I checked the bedding to find small shells of dead insects and pubic hair nicely scattered across the bed! While the facilities themselves were good and well-maintained, the lack of curtains in the room meant that I was greeted by beaming sunshine at 6am every morning, which severely disrupted my sleep. To make matters worse, alarms from nearby buildings went off throughout the night, making it difficult to rest. Overall, the poor service and lack of basic amenities overshadowed the positives of this hotel. I would not recommend Résidence Océane for a comfortable and restful stay."

Great base for a bouldering trip with friends

"18 of us stayed in this lovely house for a week. We loved having the large garden, especially the outdoor games on offer. The house itself was really nice with a good size lounge, well appointed kitchen and separate dining room. The local village is very quiet and the nearest town has a great bakery and a few supermarkets. If you're visiting the area to boulder, there's one spot only a ten minute drive away (Buthiers Piscine) and many more great options within easy driving distance. The only thing I'd advise is going with a slightly smaller group, 15 max. It's really only big enough for that many as there's not quite enough spaces around the dining table nor seats in the lounge to fit 18 and three people have to sleep on mattresses on the floor. Also, 3 bathrooms between 18 is a stretch. Communicating with the owner was very easy, they were really helpful and responsive. We would happily stay here again, with a slightly smaller group!"
