Casa Copalchi

Our property is a house located 6 km from Monteverde. The house is composed of 2 large rooms. One of the rooms measures 30 square meters while the other one goes for 26 square meters. Then you have the rest of the house which contains a living room and kitchen along with a laundry room for a total of 76 meters. The neighborhood is build-up of relatives with a total of 5 houses so it is very quite many of the times unless there is a birthday, graduation or end of the year party.
The house is well in electricity and water. It also has internet and wi-fi all over the house. We also provide you with all the utensils a house must have like t.v. with Netflix and also Spotify if you like music it has furniture such as sofa and 2 couches plus a small dining table for 3 people along with microwave oven and also coffee pot and a skillet for cooking, a fridge and a place where you can wash clothing.

Helpful hosts
The husband/wife hosts were so kind, welcoming and helpful. The lodging itself wasn’t exactly to our tastes, but adequate. It had a lot of ‘stuff’ on all the surfaces. Apparently, Monteverde can be quite windy and at night it got very noisy-sounded like maybe roofing lifting and then slamming down. The first time it happened it scared us half to death! We were informed that the hosts had lived in the house for many years. When we inquired where they lived now he said, “We live behind you,” which we thought meant on the street behind. Turns out that they have locked off one of the bedrooms, added an outside entrance and they were staying there. We could hear them and I’m sure they could hear us—it was a little weird. Also, the listing was a bit over-zealous in listing amenities—many of which we never saw. We would not choose to stay here again.

Amazing Hosts and Close to Santa Elana
We loved our stay at Casa Copalchi. The home was very cozy and comfortable. Best of all were Carlos and Isabel, the hosts, who stay in an attached, but separate, annex to the home. Carlos organized some tours for us during our stay. When the weather forced us to change plans, Isabel was more than happy to do an art project with our kids. Seeing all the positive reviews about Carlos and Isabel got us to book at Casa Copalchi. In person they exceeded expectations. We highly recommend staying at Casa Copalchi if you are interested in having the opportunity to spend some time with a local Costa Rican couple.

A wonderful experience !
Staying at Casa Copalchi was the highlight of our 10 day trip! Carlos & his wife are amazing host. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable about the Monterverde area & we learned so much from him. And his wife makes beautiful crafts! We look forward to seeing them again. Their home has everything you need & it is located on a peaceful side road with beautiful sunset views! Thanks for sharing your home!

Wonderful cottage near Monteverde
My family and I had a great stay in this house when we explored Monteverde. Isabel and Carlos have a beautiful home that's decorated very well; and played great hosts during our stay. They lived in a separate part of the house and were very willing to help if we needed anything. This house is centrally located so trips to Monteverde, Selvatura, etc. are very easy. Almost all roads in the area are gravel, including the road that leads to this house. The kitchen was basic, but included everything we needed. Isabel made fantastic Costa Rican breakfast for us - which we absolutely loved! The fridge was also stocked with milk, eggs, fresh fruit juice and other necessities. We had a lot of questions about Monteverde, so Carlos guided us around the area while we were there. His knowledge of botany and the surrounding areas was very insightful and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants around - so finding good food was not an issue. We would highly recommend Sabor Tico for Costa Rican food. Isabel and Carlos - thank you very much for sharing your home with us :-)
