This is the second time I've stayed at mine cart and I'm always pleased with my stay here! Compared to the surrounding motels in the same price range I find myself choosing mine cart. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the remodel has everything functional like new, the staff is phenomenal, attentive and accommodating, and it's right in the middle of town. The spaces can be a tad small but as long as you know that coming in it's very doable! Overall as someone who travels to Montrose often to visit family I always stay at mine cart because I know that I'll always have a great place to stay at a fantastic price. Thank you mine cart!

I have stayed at the Minecart motel on several occasions. The cost of stay is very competitive. The rooms are very clean and the room is furnished nicely. The beds are very comfortable. Parking is right in front of the room entry door, which is very convenient. The room includes a microwave and small refrigerator. It would have been better if there was an in-room coffee maker.

A nice little motel for a great price. The rooms were on the smaller side but nicely upgraded. The manager was very pleasant and had a great overnight stay while visiting family in the area.

Ups and Downs
The room was small, but clean. The bathroom light was outside of the bathroom and behind the door, so you had to turn it on, blast light into the room, and then go in. It wasn't very convenient at all. The floor had a definite slant to it and felt as if you were walking downhill. Our key card didn't work the first night we came back from dinner, so I went to the office to get it taken care of. There was nobody in the office, but there was a phone to call and get someone to help you. Nobody answered the phone, so I went back to our car and texted the owner for assistance. I never got a reply. A few minutes later, I walked back up to the office to see if the clerk returned. The person in there, must have been the owner, was very irritated that I texted and called, saying that he was only gone for a few minutes. His reaction was rude and enough to make me not want to stay here again. Beware that there isn't always somebody on the premises and that if you require assistance, they may be annoyed with you. I'm sure he wasn't annoyed with the money I spent there. Plus side - it's close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
